Elsey (unfortunately) keeps sobbing as the two of them share an embrace for a long while.
At least until she hears the knock on the door.
She pulls away, adjusting herself to look at least a bit more presentable.
It doesn't really help much.
"w-we're here...you can come in...if you need to..."

Theta walks into the room, lantern in hand, hood down, slightly long hair in oddly pristine condition.
"...I just checked on Seth in the other room. from what I can tell, Thoren is there with him. Seemed a little warmer than usual though. Also seemed kinda in pain, but then again he's been through worse. Must be a pretty intense dream."

She hears the knock at the door.
Is that, the ghost boy from the couch? Still kinda creeps her out but at the same time kinda cool.
"...how do you know all those things?" She asks him.

Elsey remembers the last discussion she had with Seth before he went into that coma.
"...he slept to go look for kat...maybe...maybe they're both in that dream...i hope so..."
Hope was all she had right now, after all.

"Yeah, I remember him mentioning that. I've been thinking of performing a technique to follow Seth into his dreams, though it seems like there's a strong threshold that would prevent returning back the same way... I kinda wanted to repay him for getting me this kickass lantern for christmas."
Theta holds onto his cherished lantern by the handle. He then answers Fannie's question.
"How do I know? It's actually pretty intuitive. When holding another person's hand, you can feel their pulse. It's quite a bit stronger when you don't have one of your own. But, with the right training or magical skills, you can sense more than just plain blood pressure. It can range from emotional state to strong thoughts if you know what to look for."

Fannie seems quite interested.
"hmm... fascinating!"
It's at this point that a notification noise is heard. It sounds like an old fashioned alarm clock bell.
"...a message!"
Fannie pulls out her tablet from a sidebag, reading the message upon it.
"...who's iridescentCrystal? do either of you two know this person?" she asks Theta and Elsey.
Meanwhile, Enrich's phone vibrates on the table. she grabs it and walks away from that door she threw that box into.
while walking down the hall she checks the message. iridescentCrystal? nobody she wants to be in cahoots with.
Enrich makes her way down towards the bedroom hallway.
She does not want to be near that door upstairs.

Elsey coughs to clear something out of her throat.
Another mystery person...She hopes that this one isn't as threatening as what they were dealing with.

Theta pulls out his laptop and checks the message board. something about that handle seems somewhat familiar. Reading it however, his hopes are dashed.
the typing style isn't quite right for that person...
Nevertheless, it never hurts to ask.
Theta begins typing a reply.

A scream is heard from Seth's room across the hall.
Theta dashes off towards it, leaving his laptop and lantern on the ground.
Meanwhile upstairs, the darkness has pushed its way through the locked doorway, engulfing the lounge completely.
It won't be too long before it overtakes the rest of the floor...

Fannie gasps at the not too distant cry and gets back up to follow behind Theta and investigate.
In the hallway, Enrich locks up as the young robed ghost boy just runs straight through and past her, leaving an eerie chill behind.
Fannie enters the hallway after and spots Enrich just standing there, shivering slightly.
"Enrich, what are you doing? didn't you hear that?"
"h-hey! how w-would you like making contact with a bottom-glasser?"
"We don't have time for this!" Fannie pushes past Enrich and enters Seth's room.
Inside his room, she finds...

Elsey, in a panic, struggles out of bed to follow the others, only to trip over and collapse in the hallway.
Frustrated sobbing fills the hall as she crawls, her hands clawing on the floor.
That was enough of a bad sign to assume the worst.
"why....why why why....!?"

Enrich is shocked, clearly not used to Elsey's unfortunate state.
But despite this, she has to help her. She is an incarnation of The First Temporic after all.
She scrambles to give Elsey a hand.
"Elsey, calm your ticks! What's gotten into you?"
Meanwhile, upstairs, the darkness, while it should have very well overtaken the floor and made its way down to the others, has paused in its growth.
It lingers at the ladder.

"This world....isn't worth saving...If she's not in it...!!!!"

Enrich gets it right away.
it's about Kat.
she sighs. of all times, did Elsey have to lose hope now?
The darkness advances slightly, creeping down the ladder.
"Miss Elsey, we don't know what she's going through right now. heck, it's hard to tell how long it's really been since then. Fannie's been telling me that our sleep cycles aren't even matching up lately. maybe I'm being a little too optimistic, but I think she's still out there. she's got her ways of sticking around, even when she could be dragged down. I know she's got something special about her."
Enrich tries again to offer her assistance in helping her back up, though also trying to avoid getting scratched by Elsey's fingernails.
