Niki flops back onto her futon, tired, mostly defeated, and frustrated. Despite everything falling into place, the battle never even got out of the gate. She's already unplugged the extra monitor and closed all but two of her handles.
"Your Universe" from coloUrs and mayhem is blasting from her speakers.
The rage has already mostly faded. Maybe she always had a slight doubt in the back of her mind. That it wouldn't work out.
Time truly is against them. This time in the most inane of forms.
This same inability to schedule everyone at the same time is what held them all back before.
"...I should be reacting more to this. Why does it just feel like late-night hobby indecision and boredom on the surface? Why does fate have to work in a such way I can't even hope to combat..."
she sighs.

everything im a part of breaks because im too blind to notice others. i cant write a good character that gets along with others for the life of me. i cant dm anything because i focus too much on myself

Niki flops over on her futon, this time tired with satisfaction instead of frustration. A tin of minty candies and butter cookies sits nearby, next to an open tupperware container filled with candy wrappers.
Needless to say, it's been a long day, but she no longer needs to worry about holding up unreasonable eggministrative threats.
They've completed the memo section of the event.
She attempts to finally read that copy of The Odyssey that she picked up from the bookstore months ago.

Niki presses pause on her not_tidus.sf2-riddled song to answer. "idk, once we get through all the required turns? I heard he's supposed to at least post some time today." an entire day later... "then again, I guess only days off when he actually has free time can be counted on..." |

Niki walks into the building, wearing a FallingStar Games shirt. Upon reaching her office cubicle, she grabs her old sketchbook and sticks it in her backpack. She then writes a note on a sticky note and places it on the outside wall of Raz's cubicle. Actually, it takes a couple sticky notes to complete the message.
"Hey Raz,
Hey, can I write the ending and wrap up lost pawns? Or do you have something drafted? I'm planning on moving onto a new nonsburb project and kinda want to make sure this hanging thread is tidied up soon.
Thank you.
-Niki"
She then walks back out of the building. She's got stuff to do at the new office.

Niki walks back in. It's quieter than usual, since other things are mostly going on to pass the time. She looks back over at the notes and such that she sent to Raz a little while back. He said he might update the day after... and then nothing. Her hand grips the tablet pen just a little tighter, her patience wearing ever so thinner. It's been literal months since anything significant has happened with the ending to lost pawns. She has a method that can be used to write the ending, as well as a draft of the default ending that she showed him. It may not have every twist that he hinted at, but it has an actual reachable conclusion to it.
She sits at her desk and tries to distract herself so she doesn't take drastic action so quickly.

The Lord of Typos and Retcons booted up his laptop and signed into Pesterchum. He was going to force himself to interact with SBARG in the hope of finally breathing new life into it.

A bus takes off towards the transit center, a hat wearing woman on board.
A letter has been delivered, with her intentions quite clear. Similar notes passed around in the meeting room for good measure.
A laptop left on in the office, a colorful animated gif on screen.
A drawing tablet nearby primed for use.
A note posted on her cubicle:
In about eight hours, she will be back from her dayjob and the magic will start...

Niki reads the updates and is absolutely devastated.
She tries to sound the alarm, but unfortunately, discord is broken. Hopefully SOMEBODY is in the area.
"FUCK! RED ALERT! WE GOTTA DO SOMETHING! KAT IS TRYING TO ERASE HER CHARACTERS FROM CANON! WE CANT LET THIS HAPPEN!"
She tries again and again to check the chat. Technical difficulties block her calls.
She briefly considers Skype. Niki decides to pull out the dusty old app on her phone. Hopefully she can contact somebody about this...
A few minutes later...
Discord FINALLY starts working again. Niki finally sends the message to the server, cursing under her breath that she didn't get an email alert from the thread. She blames the twenty something petition websites that continuously stuff her inbox.
And now... she waits-oh great what did Charles post now. Niki quickly goes to check what he has done.

Charles whistles as he loads the backup. After the incident with the Scourge, he had been backing up all the changes in their instance of paradox space through version control. Of course, he had an idea that he was going to be screamed at for this, but he did feel this did more good than bad. He just hoped the others would see it that way.

Niki finally gets off work and checks the boards again.
It doesn't seem to be working.
She decides to write a letter to Kat.
She leaves the note where Kat can find it.
