Kat notices Seth slow down and tries to gain her composure...But it seems like he's already noticed her worry. She stutters out her words softly, afraid that she might speak out too loudly and alert strangers.
'I-it's just that...What if she's hurt...? What if w-we're too late...? I know this is me just worrying, but Elsey means so much to me...'
She pauses as he offered his hand to her. She hesitates...but eventually takes it anyway, gripping his hand tightly.
She's still a little shaky.
'L-let's h....hurry.'

Seth holds her hand with a similarly firm grip, though tries to lessen the pressure a bit. Kat might be able to feel Thoren's very distant presence, though because of the distance, it's probably only enough to feel that there might be one more familiar person in the group.  He smiles a little upon feeling her squeeze his hand. To believe that she actually trusts him... Strong feelings begin rushing, making the fire in his other hand flare up brilliantly. It's a very good thing it doesn't seem to burn his hand while producing it. The stairwell lights up enough that the bottom can be seen quite a ways down. a vague figure down there can barely be seen moving out of the slightly lit radius and back into the darkness. It may have not been the best thing to produce a light that bright, but he doesn't care. All that matters is Kat and Elsey's safety right now. "There's no such thing as too late when time is on your side. There's always a way."He easily keeps up with whichever pace Kat is willing to take with him. |

'R-right.' She can't help but smile as he tried to keep her spirits up. She knew that all the worry she was thinking of would get in the way, but couldn't help it...
She was so glad that there we people willing to help, as she glances towards the others in the group.
But as she turned her head back forward, she notices something slip back into the darkness from in front of the path.
'T-that was someone else, wasn't it...? They..they might have seen us...'
She subconsciously started to move in a quicker pace, as if chasing after whatever that might have been.

Niki pulls out her smartphone and takes a picture of some of the glyphs, forcing no-flash mode. She sends it to the message board, hoping somebody might be able to decipher something from it.
Noticing the cute dorks holding hands, she decides not to say anything, knowing that a certain somebody would blow up again. She tries to keep up with them as they begin walking faster together.
"wait up guys... ➜" she tries to whisper while carefully climbing down stairs as quick as safely possible.

The party eventually reaches the bottom of the staircase.  There are two paths, one leading East and the other West. The both seem to look identical. There is a single torch affixed to the far wall. The walls down here are covered in more painted text. The halls echo with continued chanting from both directions in equal amount. Each path seems to taper off into darkness. What will you do? |

Regaining tangibility at the bottom of the stairs, Nak snaps his head back and forth between the two paths before letting out something resembling a sigh.
"go split? all gods, no danger anyway"
He shrugs, adjusting the hat tower.

"well........ we do have enough people to split up without anyone being alone, in case something happens..."
Kimura contemplates whether or not the 'let's split up, gang' horror movie trope is applicable here.

Kat looks around. A split path...not a good sign already.

Niki checks her smartphone once again and pauses.
"...guys, we might have a problem. ➜"
She shows the translated message to the group, and then looks over towards Seth.
"Do you think you'll be prepared for whatever may happen? You can always back out. ➜" as Niki uncaptchalogues a pair of contacts in a small box.
"That being said, I'm not sure if splitting up would be a very good idea. ➜"

Being close enough to another light source, and starting to tire slightly from fire magic usage, he dispels the flame in his free hand. He continues holding onto Kat's hand.
"Me, back out of this? Not a chance. I don't care what they plan on doing to me. It's not like a bunch of run of the mill mortals can do much against me, or any of us for that matter." He seems to be ignoring the box of contacts.
There seems to be a need to be cautious, most likely from Thoren.
"If you want the group to stick together, I have no problems with that. We'll be able to knock them down easier together." His grip briefly tightens a little before loosening back in place.
"That being said, I say we go down that way." Seth points towards the west path with his free hand.

Kat looks a bit worried...On one hand, they would be outed as outsiders and be possibly shunned if not hunted down...But on the other hand they would probably end up with the same result regardless.

"sounds good. ...and in retrospect, splitting up might've been a bad plan after all." He shrugs, still wondering what they're even supposed to do if they encounter angry Korousians... meh, cross that bridge when it comes to them.
