Welcome to the Grand Desert region of planet Korous! This region is home to a variety of ancient sites popular with archaeologists, including the world-famous ancient hourglass city. The days are short, the weather is hot, the nights are filled with danger, and the sands are filled with mystery. {Diagram of the planet and other stuff} {really outdated map of area around the hourglass city}

Sandstorm Pass, a little ways near Canyon City/Town. A lone figure, seemingly coming out of a recent storm.
Despite her appearance, she is not of this world. But her ship is safe and hidden, cloaked in magic and far from the ground. As for her time period, it will be as if it had been just three hours (she still has no idea how the measurement of time is in this particular planet) since she accepted the possibility of a duel. Can't be too far into the past, or the future.
Nobody will probably suspect a thing. It will be as if she was just a stranger on her way to town. At least, that's what she hopes. She starts to walk to her destination.
...She's just glad she remembers the address that one person slipped out.

The red sun is hot and bright and the east winds continuously blow, though thankfully they have calmed to merely a slight breeze. The city can be seen just over the ridge, not too far away. The sand is very light in texture and is almost a greenish tint of yellow? Maybe it's just an odd trick of some sort. The walk seems to go without incident and eventually you reach an actually paved road, trying in vain to emerge from the obscuring sands. The bustle of the city can be heard, the shwoosh of cars zooming down roads, with the occasional obnoxiously loud hot rod motor between shwooshes. Like sheesh, don't they have sound level ordinances or something? By the time you arrive to the town proper, it's fairly loud. Someone in a large red... dunebuggy? zooms past without a care in the world, pink scarf streaming in the wind. A few pedestrians walk alongside the road, many of them in somewhat eclectic outfits. It seems the cowboys have come and gone from this city and were replaced by rave party scene kids. Wait, there's still some dude wearing a 10-gallon hat across the street, there's still some semblance of normal here... kinda. Unfortunately, there appears to be no street name signs anywhere. Welcome to Canyon city.

The noise bothers her greatly. Perhaps it's because she's spent so long in what was pretty much a ghost town. But aside from the weirdly dressed populace, it doesn't seem too bad. Maybe this change in scenery was the best idea she's had in a while. Getting away from the winter cold, and away from whatever that troublemaker Charles was doing. Weird mysterious gates...that can only spell disaster coming from him.
Sure she was probably going to run into some problems here...as she's all alone in a place so familiarly...unfamiliar. No game knowledge to show her what to do, and no magic to make things easy. But what's life without a few challenges?
The first challenge: to actually figure out what's what in this town. She wordlessly heads in one direction, taking care not to end up becoming roadkill. She would rather not rely on strangers until she knows for sure that she needed help.

You make your way down one of the roads. Thankfully, the roads actually have crosswalks and stoplights at the busier intersections. Most of the townsfolk don't really take the time to look at you. whether they're just busy or you blend in really well, it's hard to tell. The stoplights have the standard red/yellow/green setup and the crosswalk signals have a red X displayed for stop, a yellow flashing ! for warning, and a green arrow -> for go. There is a sign that says "Old Town Market Square up ahead", in surprisingly legible letters. There appears to be a furniture store to the left and some sort of tricycle shop to the right.
What will you do?

She sighs in relief. So glad that at least they have some semblance of traffic laws. She notices the sign that mentions a market. A good idea to look at some goods...Even though she's probably sure that she doesn't have a way to pay for anything. She does have a few things that she thinks might be valuable enough to pawn off...but this is another planet we're talking about here, anything can happen. It could all be worthless junk to them.
She heads towards the Market Square. Maybe she'll visit the other shops later.

Old Town Market Square is bustling with activity. With the thinner roads, mostly cyclists and those on foot have taken center stage upon the roads. A wide variety of traditional shops and stands line the streets. A couple of nubbling children dash past you, taking care not to bump into anyone. They seem to be having fun. A very buff looking guy with a cracked horn is expertly haggling prices with a trinket salesperson. He seems to be trying to get an odd looking necklace for a cheaper price, while the salesperson seems to be insisting that it was made with a rare material only found on certain tropical islands somewhere.
At another stand, which appears to be a cheesy tourist trap-style gift shop, there are some small rocks for sale, a ton of t-shirts and jackets that say "Canyon City" on them are on display. There is also one of those spinning racks of fake mini-licence plates with some "common" names on them. Most of these names aren't really all that common at all. A few seem like they're slightly recognizable as names, like Edward, but then a really weird one shows up like Viflew or Joc or Rinte. One must wonder how exactly odd names like that came into common use around here. A hobbyist metalworks shop is somewhere nearby. It seems the specialty there is weird abstract metal sculptures of a vaguely menacing nature. The pricetags are absolutely massive. A scraggly looking bum is wearing a sandwich board with the words "The end is near!", with a simple drawing of a nearly depleted hourglass at the bottom. She seems to be yelling at everyone she can get to listen to her.

Interesting...very interesting.
She feels a little out of place in a way that she doesn't actually live here, and yet it feels so nice to blend in with the crowd. ...Sort of a shame the planet is gone in her time axis, or she would make a nice place here.
She spends a bit of time window shopping, especially with the place with those weird metal statues...What in the world are these inspired from...?
Eventually, she notices the odd bum and their...err...apocalyptic panic. She strains her ear as to listen, but not in a way that attracts attention.

"The Voice of Time has told me of the terrors of what is to come! The sands of the Grand Hourglass are running thin as of late! I have been told, when the last of the sands has emptied, our time here will be over! OVER! Each grain, as the story goes, stands for each and every one of us here! We will all DIE! How it will happen has not been revealed, but it has been alluded to end in fire! OUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED!" She seems to continue on for a while like this. The passing shoppers seem to be doing their best to ignore the loud yelling, though a few here and there look legitimately concerned. A child begins crying but his guardian assures him that that crazy lady is just spewing nonsense. The metal statues are sort of hard to pin down conceptually. It seems to be mostly up to personal interpretation.

She would rather not spend the whole day disputing with the artist on what they might represent, so she moves on... Stepping forward towards the woman spouting words about the fate of the world, building up courage to finally speak.
Honestly, she's getting annoyed less about the messages itself but with the woman wasting her time doing nothing. 'May I have a word with you?'

the ragged woman pauses from her fervent doomsaying. "W-what is it you need to discuss, madam? I'm trying to spread the truth here." Upon closer inspection, she appears to have been crying recently, as evidenced by the dried tears that appear to have ran down her face. She waits nervously.

Elsey flips her hair as she tries to collect her words.
'If your words are indeed true, then why are you standing here?' She looks at her in the eyes, with a stern but concerned look.
'If our-No, if your time is limited, then why waste it throwing words to the wind? Time is precious, and you're wasting yours away by standing here preaching to deaf ears. If you're really concerned about your life and the lives of others, then why not dedicate what little you think you may have on finding a way to prevent or change things?' She steps closer, not breaking eye contact.
'I understand that it will be difficult in your standpoint, but if you accept whatever fate you think you have now and do nothing, your life will end in regret.'

She takes a moment to try and process what has been told to her. Challenge fate? that's impossible! That which is fated to take place cannot be stopped... right?
> Who's that you're talking to there? The ragged signholder jumps, it's been a while since she's heard things. 'just a noblewoman with wild ideals. Not worth reasoning with.' > ...I'd recognize that whelp anywhere. '...wait what?' > er, DΘN'T LISTEN TΘ HER, SHE CΘNT▲INS ΘNLY LIES. 'but-' > YΘU D▲RE TΘ QUESTION THE VΘICE ΘF TIME?! "n-no..." She shakes and cowers at seemingly nothing. > Good. Now CH▲SE HER ΘUT ΘF THE ARE▲. Normally I'd have you destroy her, but this is a public zone.
With a moment of awkward silence passed, she noticeably changes in attitude. "Y-YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE! GET AWAAAAAY!" And with that, the ragged woman lifts off the signboard and rushes towards Elsey, screaming like mad.

Elsey stepped back watched during that moment of awkward silence as the woman displayed strange behavior.
The sudden shout was enough of a warning for her to sidestep their sudden attack. What in the hell got into her? Elsey plays it cool and tries to talk to her again.
'There is no need to get violent, miss. I'm only concerned for your wellbeing...You seem scared, that's all.'
She steps forward cautiously. This is probalby going to make a big scene...She had to think of a plan in case it goes sour.
'You shouldn't live life in constant fear...There's so much out there waiting for you. Nice, beautiful things.' She smiles sadly.
'You can't just waste the rest of your life in tears.'

At this point, the others in the area are starting to take notice of this odd scene. They try to give the two of them some room, a couple bystanders sticking around to watch.
The ragged woman completes a leaping tackle, and misses completely due to the side-step. She hits the pavement. > DΘN'T LISTEN, SHE'S JUST TRYING TΘ DISTR▲CT YOU! > NΘW GET UP! YΘU STILL H▲VE ▲ TASK TΘ CΘMPLETE HERE! The woman gets up slowly, dusting off her well-worn dress. She's not entirely into this it seems. She shudders with fear and pain. "...If you don't want to get hurt... please, just leave." While she doesn't seem to want to fight, her focus is still quite direct, if not almost desperate in nature.
She deliberates as long as she can before dashing towards Elsey once again.
