"Ah yes, The Girl That Broke His Heart. A classic tale of betrayal and revenge. One you seem to know the other side of all too well..."

An awkward pause as the silence continues and the two in the truck driver onwards.

Chauffeurn takes a moment to listen to the rant. Just as the stories had outlined, it was about the girl. The driver was afraid of this possible explanation being the one. "...I'm sorry for your misfortune, but there's not much I can do either, as he is still my master. Those that defy the commands of the Voice of Time are marked for ruin, as history and circumstance has shown to us chosen ones time and time again..."
Chauffeurn and Elsey arrive at the exterior area of Canyon Mine. Various heavy machinery can be seen doing it's thing while workers wearing hard hats with flashlights are busy moving about. They drive down a neatly paved but clearly private offshoot road. There are no signs down it and it seems to be leading away from the job-site.

'R-right...'
She didn't like this...she didn't like this at all. For one...she could go through with whatever this place had in store...But if she dies here, that would be it. But if she goes against what might be...This poor person could suffer for it.
Was her own safety worth the bad future that might befall someone? Would it even matter? What if they suffer for it whether or not she goes through with it?
On one hand...Kat would be all alone...On the other...Well, that.
She kept silent for the rest of the ride, making another forum post discreetly.

After a few messages she received and replied to, Elsey begins to remove her pocketwatch.
There was something itching at the back of her head. What made him hate her friend more than the others? What in the fuck happened that she would get the brunt of his sadistic tendencies? It has to be in that story. She had only seen hints to what it could be, and she wanted desperately to know more. To see the beginning of this cycle of hate and despair.
To find out the truth. Or at least, some piece of the truth. Before something bad happens and that question in her head will be left unanswered.
'H-hey...Can you tell me about that tale? I've only heard a tiny bit about it. There's something to this that bothers me greatly...Are you and your master willing to let me hear the other side of this?'

"I suppose I can tell it to you... It is quite long and requires quite a bit of context, but I think there's likely enough time to tell it before we reach our destination." Chauffurn slows the truck's speed as to make the ride take longer.
"...Long ago, Chronos defeated a fearsome being beyond comprehension that had tried to prevent him from ever existing. Able to escape certain doom and retaliate, he found himself flying into the Great Unknown. With the powers of Time and Space at his command, he was able to force a straight road for himself into being. After a countlessly long journey, he found a desolate rocky land to take refuge. It is said he was summoned there by a mysterious request, fulfilled by a future follower placing an offering for him there. Later it was found out that he had arranged it to complete an anachronal prophecy to save himself from further ruin. But that's mostly just the set-up. As he was resting in his unknown alcove from the strains of correcting pockets of Time and Space in such a chaotic realm, he came across a copy of the diary from his past life. It was entangled with countless copies of itself and thus others who had it could write messages to eachother."
The road goes into a well lit tunnel. It is much cooler than outside. There is ample space above and to the sides here.
"At one point, a mysterious writer had sought out his advice, writing in an enigmatic manner. He gave what advice had led to his own successes, but in return, he was warned of his eventual downfall. He refused to believe that he would one day be defeated. He was immortal after all. Finally accepting the possibility as a far-off truth, he was said to have had a breakdown. Would any remember him? Would his legacy last in such an unforgiving realm? It was then that an answer came to him, in the form of a drawing. A girl had drawn a figure similar to himself, but with a petite feminine form. The First Temporic, which you are apparently a kin of by mysterious means. He had never seen another like him, aside from vague encounters with one such in a past life. He had forgotten all about her until he had seen that drawing. She was the answer to his perilous dilemma. He would have a successor to his name, to continue his legacy. An Heir. It seemed to match up with the way things would go. In addition to creating himself, he would also create another to go forwards instead of backwards. He was given hope, and for that, he was grateful."
The truck stops in front of a metal gate flanked by a complex system of visible gears on both sides, likely used to open it remotely somehow. Chauffeurn idles the truck in front of it and continues telling the next part of the story as the gate slowly opens.
"One day Chronos was drawn towards a mace floating in the void. It is unknown where or when it came from at the time, but it seemed to be calling out towards him. It felt like it was apart of him. In an attempt to show gratitude, he sent the mace to the girl, who had expressed a desire to destroy her enemies with a mace, something Chronos could understand and respect from her. He could not truly feel love for another, but this was the closest he could get. He tracked the mace as she went off on her own adventures with it in hand. Apparently her cohorts, the cursed crew, did not trust the gift she had been given, and plotted to destroy it. A figure known as "the blight upon the sun's eye", or "the Sunspot", had developed a horrifying cursed magic that could destroy him, and would one day be instrumental in his undoing. She tried to use it against her mace multiple times, each time it reacted in pain and sent a message back to whomever was tracking it. At one point, the mace got into the hands of the fallen heir from the future, and had salvaged a small part of himself that was encoded in the mace. Eventually though, after the girl retrieved the mace from the fallen heir, she had a change of heart from what it seemed. She willingly surrendered it to the Sunspot to have it destroyed. It was clear at this point that she had no love for him, and that he shouldn't have tried to show what he thought was love to her."
The truck drives forwards into the gated area. It is an elegant, mostly packed parking lot with a wide variety of vehicles, many of them quite luxurious. Chauffeurn parks the truck into an empty parking spot and turns off the engine, continuing the story to the relative end.
"Chronos was furious upon learning the fate of his gift. In a fit of rage, he ravaged their hideaway and destroyed their shining beacon. He had an encounter with The Interloper, but was able to escape. He vowed from that day on that he would never let another stranger like her fool him into being kind ever again, and that he would make her and all those connected to her pay for what she had done. The Sunspot, however, eluded his wrath, despite his vow to also extinguish those who fought in the name of Light. It was luck that protected her from his fury, but his hatred could not be quelled..." Chauffurn sighs and steps out of the truck. "Well, it's best that we get going now." Chauffurn turns to face the rather grand entryway across the parking lot. There is a stone carving of the timespace gear above it, and there are lit pyre torches to the left and right.

Elsey kept quiet as they told her everything about the tale...To think that it all started with a small drawing...One she assumed from her time with her friend that she made to cope with the crippling feeling of being in a situation that she never wanted to be in. She goes through their words, trying to connect things... This girl was definitely the girl that went missing in the place with all those wretched horrorterrors, Raine. She was most definitely at a fragile state then, Elsey had thought.
Her time in the void would have made her desperate enough for any sort of confirmation that she was still important to at least one person... Even if that person would be someone who made her life a living hell. 'That's...I don't understand...'
But something doesn't make sense. During all her memories of multiple timelines, she remembers that Kat never threw any sort of gift away, cursed or not. The same would probably apply to Raine, would it not? But then Elsey remembered what she heard of what happened to Raine: Someone else had her body for a while. Someone without any memories.
A mistake like that...To think that it caused every instance of her so much suffering...so much despair... A pained look was clear on her face as she dropped the pocketwatch. She hopped off the truck, dusting herself off.
Looking back on the story and what his thoughts were...Something gave her an incredibly bad feeling. She knew for sure that something was going to happen to her. Something unfathomably horrible brewed in her head. She tries to shake it off. It's not going to be her ultimate fate, she convinces herself. This is totally malleable, the others can come in and bail her out. They're going to for sure...It's not going to be a doomed timeline...
'I...I don't feel so good...'
She stumbles a little, but there was certainly no turning back...She just hopes, deep in her heart, that she's going to be fine. That everyone that might come to her aid will be fine. She continues to follow, and it was clear from her posture and expression that she was dreading what was to come.

The group appears in what appears to be a strangely ancient looking stone underground parking lot. All of the walls are made of stone. All noises echo quite a bit down here. There are quite a few nice looking luxury vehicles parked everywhere, all empty of course. Some of them might even still be warm. They appear to be fairly modern looking, mostly suited for desert driving conditions. The temperature is rather mild and definitely warmer than a cold winter's evening in Charcherry, though perhaps a little humid. The parking lot is subtly lit by rather large metal torches, blazing quite strongly. Their combined light seems to minimize the total flickering, but it can still sort of be seen in the way the shadows waver ever so slightly. Up ahead, a grand entryway can be seen, with two of those same such torches to each side. The large open doorway is flanked with pillars embedded into the rock wall. The ever-so-familiar symbol of the timespace gear is carved above it. Voices can vaguely be heard chanting something from inside. What will you do?

Looking around, Kat seems to be more at an uneasy state. It's dark, humid, and most of all...There's that ominous chanting coming from that equally ominous entryway. Things definitely don't seem to be beginning well.
'W-we should hurry...r-right, guys?' she whispers, looking toward the rest of the group.

Niki looks around a little, trying to gather her bearings. Remembering she isn't wearing a scarf right now (due to wearing fake horns instead), she uncaptchas an unenchanted mini-scarf and puts it on. It looks similar to the one that lavenderSiren wears, but it's green instead of pink.
"...I think so? We should try to be quiet while down here. ➜" She looks ahead to the open doorway, getting chills from the foreboding atmosphere. "who knows what might happen... ➜"

Seth blinks a couple of times. It's a bit different tagging long with another time player's timehop instead of his own. While his method is usually a little more flashy and instantaneous, hers is more elegant and beautiful. It still gets the job done though, from what it seems. Maybe he should try changing up how his time power usage looks at some point. Fairly quickly, the temperature change takes it's toll. Seth captchalogues his heavy coat away, revealing a plain light gray long-sleeve shirt and black pants. The infinity symbol is noticeably absent from the shirt, though it is still on the scarf around his neck. That's a lot better. He could get used to this kind of climate. Seth examines his surroundings enough to navigate. The path ahead seems to be straightforwards. Just as he prefers. A great desire to fight against something is still on the backburner from Thoren, though right now it seems to be mostly ignored in favor of his own current goals. Rescue Elsey, and maybe try to learn more about this mysterious place.
Seth begins walking towards the obvious way further in, not much waiting for anyone else besides Kat. "Yeah. Let's get going now."

Kat walks to the entrance in a brisk walk. She's very tense about the situation, and does not want a moment wasted.
'Please be okay...Please...' she continues to mumble to herself.

Nak gives what's close as possible to a shrug when you don't have very well defined shoulders, before starting void-ing out and following the rest of the group.

The cars, they don't really seem too special, aside from a couple with an iridescent sheen to them, though that's mostly just the paint. The driver's seat is on the left side and most of these vehicles have some sort of roll-bar in place, presumably in case of being flipped in the sand. The tires have really large grooves, as would be standard for driving in sandy conditions. One of the cars, which seems oddly less fancy, is a yellowish greenish truck with a camouflage pattern on it. It seems to be still warm so it most likely was used fairly recently.
The party, nevertheless, enters through the entryway. A flight of stairs greets them downwards into the darkness. There is no handrail, though there is at least the walls to touch. The chanting seems to be easier to hear, but still impossible to make out. It echoes dizzingly across the stone corridors. It seems there's quite a long way down.

Kat continues down, being careful not to trip over the stairs... She's trembling, she's practically terrified at this point. All this worry is getting to her head. She keeps silent, and feels as if her heart is going to burst.

Seth continues onwards, down the dark stone stairwell. Thoren seems to be doing pretty well with whatever he's doing. There's a chance he might be a little arrogant. Another usage of fire magic. It seems to be unfolding slower than usual. Seth takes the cue to practice again. He could use some light down there anyways.
Following the steps more carefully, a flame is produced from his hand. It seems to be less tiring than last time. He holds it in place to light the way a little bit. The walls seem to have strangely familiar glyphs painted upon them. Seth almost wants to try and take a better look at it, but raising the flame too much might expend too much energy, and saving Elsey is more important now. So he continues down the stairs, with a small burning ember in his hand. After a few moments, he looks back towards Kat to see how she's doing. Noticing how afraid she looks, Seth slows his pace to walk by her side.
"Kat... It's gonna be alright. We will find her, I promise." It seems risky to promise something like that, not knowing how it will turn out, but maybe with enough determination, he can make his promise as certain as the others. He can't let her down. "Do you want to... Hold my hand?" He offers his empty hand to her, flame in the other hand illuminating stronger than usual.
