Meanwhile, in the library, inside the school, "Theta" is stuck having to read through a stack of books even taller than he is. He takes a sip of an energy drink, focus flavored. While he likes reading the material, he's really starting to get restless from being stuck here reading for so long. His notebook has quite a few edgy looking doodles in the margins. How long has it been since he's gone back home anyways?
Back out in front, Hypnos is still in the same dire state. At least it seems to be stable though.
One of the robed trees out front begins walking towards the group.
"What's all the hubbub here?" Ark might recognize this tree as Miss Maple, one of the instructors from the school.

"Ah, Master Maple. We have a bit of a situation here. Seems like this boy is a brother of one of the students in the school, Theta. I suppose he needs some assistance from him. Mind helping him out?"
Ark gets up from the ground.

There is a strange feeling brewing in Medi...But for some reason she couldn't pinpoint what it was.
She just stays in place, worrying about Hypnos.

Miss Maple examines the boy.
"oh my... I've seen some almost like this in town, but not this bad..." She examines more.
"Prospit dreamer, likely a player of the game... probably not from this city..." Maple looks up at the others.
"I'm going to have to take him to the nurse's office. He has an acute deficiency in social energy and internal energy. Come along if you wish."
She picks up Hypnos with her branched arms and carries him to the school.
"So your brother Theta goes to school here? I can see the resemblance easily." Miss Maple smiles with a crinkly dry grin. "He tends to study in the back of my classroom between classes. I'm not sure if I've seen many that engage in their studying as much as him. definitely one of Hickory's students alright..."
Hypnos looks up at Miss Maple and tries to say something.
"gone for so long... fountain turned off... others elsewhere..."
She listens closely and nods, it seems to match up well. It seems extremely unfortunate that his brother has to suffer like this while Theta is off at school. But why would his home be so empty? shouldn't there be at least one or two others to keep everyone there sufficiently socially fulfilled? Hearing the at the fountain is turn off though isn't anything new lately. Energy Recycling Fountains have been shutting off left and right lately, and it's been causing problems in quite a few places with uneven energy-flows. This poor boy must have used the last of his reserves to make a trip all the way here...
"Don't worry, we'll get you what you need, and you'll be able to see your brother."
They walk through the front door. The halls are quite impressive looking, with high ceilings and shining dark tile floors that glitter like the night sky. The nurse's office is close to the front so there isn't too much of a trip.

Medi felt like she couldn't just leave him behind and decides to follow on after.
The strange tree person's observation to Hypnos' status seems to be incredibly hard to follow.
Hearing these weird terms and such makes her wonder...Was her Dream really an outlier? From what she is hearing, apparently it was.
She wonders if it was wrong to make it the way it was. She's never heard of these sorts of things...And feels like the possibly growth that would have been was probably stunted for all the ghosts in her dream. Like she's spoiled them rotten.
She really didn't want to think about that anymore. She turns her worries back to the current matter at hand.
"H-he's going to be alright, is he? He won't disappear, right? I...I mean...It's kind of...I kind of know...w-why...his companions aren't there..."
The awful feeling is still there...It's making her nauseous.

Ark was walking with them but a small familiar jumps on his shoulder. He looks over at the small, featureless, draconic creature with little blue eyes. "Yes?"
The familiar chirps at him and he looks down at his book. Ark opens his tome and flips through the recent pages.
"Pardon my absence Master Maple. But it looks like there's about to be a new day of the dead."
Ark closes his book and runs off, holding his scythe close. He disappears in a burst of tattered cloth and vanishes.

"He's not quite at that level, but we have what he needs here. There's no need to worry."
Hypnos is sat down on a slightly cushioned chair in the nurse's office and is given an energy drink in a plastic bottle, with a straw. Invigorate flavor apparently. It's placed on the nearby armrest.
"Drink this." The tree woman pushes the straw slightly towards his direction. Hypnos manages to lean forwards enough to reach the straw. He begins drinking the elixir.
"I need to make a phonecall really quick, keep drinking please." The boy nods and continues drinking it.
Miss Maple makes a call on a phone nearby. "I'd like to request Theta [Redacted] to show up to the nurse's office ...yeah. tell him it's urgent. Thank you."
Hypnos sips the drink for a bit, he begins to look a lot more opaque than before.
Miss maple puts the phone down.
"My dear? I've just summoned your brother here. He should be arriving shortly."
Hypnos' blank eyes light up with that.
"Really?"
"Yes. Now finish your drink, you need all the boost you can get.."
Hypnos picks up the bottle and continues drinking it to the end.
"Man, that tasted pretty good. Better than the sh-stuff from the fountain back at the tower, back when it was still on."
Miss maple is wondering if she should mention the thing about energy recycler fountains, and what determines the quality of energy that flows from it. She decides to refrain from explaining for now. The poor boy isn't in the condition to be told harsh truths about those that he shares that space with, as well as himself.
A voice from the intercom system can be heard just right outside the door. "Seth 'Theta' [Redacted], your presence is requested in the nurse's office."
And now, they wait.

Medi finds a free seat and sits down, feeling a bit more sluggish than usual...
She knows for sure that something is wrong.
She slowly moves her hand to her chest, even though she has no heartbeat...
"What's happening...To my Dream..." she mutters to herself.
As if a part of her is being removed forcefully from her soul.

A Prospitian dreamer falls into the water, looking very confused. He quickly starts to panic though, realizing that his heavy Prospitian armor is dragging him down below the waves... and it's going to be almost impossible to tread water with his injuries. Meanwhile a small conversation goes on in the dead boy's head.
What. Why am I still you?
Why didn't we get split back into two souls? I would have thought that's what would happen..
Well obviously we thought wrong, coward. I can't believe I'm going to be stuck with you for our entire afterlife.
I didn't do anything to keep you here, Hunt. I'm just as displeased about this as you are.
Of course they put us in the fucking water, like we're supposed to swim like this.

After a few moments, Theta walks into the nurse's office.
"there better be a good reason for this. i was in the middle of a study session."
"Hello Theta, your brother is here to see you." Miss maple gestures to Hypnos, sucking the last of his energy drink through a straw. He lights up upon seeing him.
"You're here! You would not believe what happened while you were gone. They shut off the fountain! It's gone completely dry! I barely even made it here in time. If it weren't for Medi over there, I'm not sure how far I woulda gotten."
"wait, they shut it off? i payed the bill on time, like i always do! are you sure it didn't get clogged?"
"Believe me, I checked. The pipes are clean and not a drop is going through."
Theta sighs.
"...hippie, we need to get to the bottom of this. According to my studies, that fountain is more important than we usually give it credit for."
"No shit, sherlock."
Miss maple gives hypnos a dirty look.
"...well how the fuck else am I supposed to say that?"
"'Hippie', I'd like it if you would leave soon. Theta, make sure you sign out at the front desk. They'll understand your reason."
"my name's not hippie, it's hypnos."
If miss maple could roll her blank eyes, she would be rolling them quite a bit. Who even raised these boys, and why is the younger one so much better behaved?
Hypnos stands up carefully and gets ready to head out the door.
"Will you be coming with us, Medi?" He asks the girl.

Medi looks up towards Hypnos, tears trickling down.
She speaks, her voice is weaker, sickly, quieter than usual.
"I-It's gone...my Dream...My home and friends...All gone..."
Her left hand is clutching at her chest, specifically where her heart is, incredibly tightly...As if she was going to gouge her hand into it.
"All because I wanted to go out at least once...To see him..."

Following the other Niki's advice, RN transformed into his full spirit form. A yellow and green orb burst out from the waves, flying along towards the nearby tower.

The three of them look over at Medi with shock and concern.
"Oh my..."
"Medi, you're free to stay at the tower or with us until your housing dilemma is resolved."
"we still need to get the fountain turned back on. the tower's out in the middle of the styx, remember?"
"right. First place we should hit up is the town hall."
Theta remembers something from a while back, when Alpha was gathering the rest of the seths up. Something about their quest to save Raine and the other kats. Having viewed many of the unfortunate memories of his alternates, Theta can recognize a kat fairly well.
"wait, you said something happened to your dream... you're one of the kats, right?"
Theta is getting a really bad sinking feeling about this...

Something clicks, and now Medi starts crying even harder.
"Noo....Nooo!! This is all my fault!!"
She covers her face in shame.
"Y-your residents were in my dream too...What have I done...!!"

"calm down, calm down. i'm gonna check if anyone is online first." Theta uncaptchas his laptop and sits down nearby.
"Medi, I think you need to tell us what's going on here." Hypnos looks over at her.
Miss Maple leaves the room. These children can sort this out themselves, she's not paid enough for this.
