Chronos is flopped down against the tiny bench in his cell, idly oozing in an exhausted resting position. His orange prison uniform has long since been stained black, though the ID tag with his inmate number remains mysteriously pristine.
The walls of his cell are decorated with large amounts of notes on various complex timespace measurements, tiptoeing around much more violent scrawlings and remarks, all etched in black tar. There is a particularly prominent picture of chronos blasting a laser at the sun, which has a crudely drawn anime face and hair on it, eyes x'd out. above it is the words "SUNSPΘT WILL DIE."
He hears the voice of someone familiar, though his voice sounds much older than last time. Chronos sits up lazily, a tired look in his blank eyes. He squints, and then perks up upon recognizing the figure across the hall. A smile widens across his perforated face. "H▲. H▲H▲. H▲H▲H▲H▲H▲H▲H▲! THIS IS BE▲UTIFUL. LE▲VE IT TΘ GΘΘD ΘLD INEVIT▲BILITY TΘ BRING YΘUR SΘRRY ▲SS DΘWN." Chronos is elated with laughter as he looks across the hall at his late nemesis between breaks in his moment.

Omega scoffs and runs his hand through his grey hair. He laughs along with Chronos for a moment before staring down the hall through the bars.
"Kids, huh?" He says with a wry smile.
"One dies in your arms, you try to make another... you kill that one and then it stabs you in the back... then finally done in by an Ancestor. It's nearly comedic. Don't you think?" The old man looks back at Chronos. "You don't suppose they serve lunch here? Dying really takes it out of you..."

With his nemesis finally dead, Chronos feels no need to be antagonistic against him. Besides, he could use some familiar company around here. Perhaps maybe he could be a... valuable asset towards his escape plans? It's something to think about later.

"Don't suppose you know the time?"
The old man rubs his wrists, glancing at a passing guard.
"Do they let us out of the cells or is it just deposited through a chute?" Omega's eyes wander his cell carefully. Familiarizing himself with the place. He was probably going to be here for a long time...
He glances back at Chronos after the monster movie comment. He smiles a little. "My friend... looks can be one thing... but the most dangerous kind of person, is the one that can convince you to die for them..."

"I came to call myself Omega. As the alpha timeline, the one you're more familiar with, is just the Alpha. However... he too is dead now..."
The old man pulls a pen from his coat pocket. "...all it takes is to plant an idea in their head... just one simple phrase... and they all interpret it one way or another." He snaps the pen open with his bare hands. "Just one phrase..." He holds the ink tube up at Chronos, then taps it onto his coat. "And it spreads through their mind like wild fire..." The ink bleeds around the coat from the spot he dabbed. "There can only be one..." He says quietly. "One phrase... and anyone would be willing to die for you."
He covers the broken pen with his hands, then opens them up to a completely restored pen.

Elsewhere...
Ark stands in front of a dorkishly smiling man with a blue aura. Mike waves to him as Ark stares on in disbelief. "You... No... No no... You're not supposed to be dead..." Ark opens his tome and flips through the pages. "You're not even in my book... How... How are you dead?!"
Mike shrugs and smiles. "Not sure... But hey, you're a reaper right? Like a grim reaper?"
"...I do have such a title yes... But what are you getting at... Wait..."
Mike walks forward a bit and holds out his hand. "Reapers game. Soul or nothing."
Ark looks at him. "You want to play against me for your soul? What kind of game did you have in mind...?"
Mike rolls a coin from his pocket into his hand. "Heads or tails?"
"You would put your soul on the line of such a simple game?" Ark just, looks at him in disbelief.... But Mike didn't stop smiling. He had to be serious about this. "...tails."
Mike throws the coin into the air with a decent spin. He watches it closely as it begins to descend.
The world seems to slow as the coin rotates...

The coin rotates and soon falls to the ground...
Heads. Mike won.
Ark looks at Mike like the man has some kind of horse shoe up his ass. "You're one lucky guy Michael... I don't know how and I don't know for what reason... but the world out there just doesn't want you to die..."
Mike chuckles and stuffs his hands into his pockets. "I guess I still have something worth fighting for... somewhere out there."
Ark swings his scythe and cuts Mike's soul in two, leaving behind a crystalized blue clump that falls to the ground. A second later Mike reforms, his soul body coming back into one piece.
"Gah, Could have warned me!" He rubs his chest where it was slashed.
"Sorry kid, but that thing was always too dangerous to keep going through the cycles." Ark picks up the clump, his eyes waver as he feels his power wane from the crystal. "God... it really does feel like a parasite..." Ark opens his tome and closes the crystal inside, turning it into another page in his book.
Mike takes a breath and exhales. "Feels like a great deal of weight gone now... Thanks, anyway."
Ark nods and puts away his tome and scythe. "Well get on then. Just take the river back up..."
The blue eyed boy nods and waves to Ark, heading towards the docks.
Ark didn't say anything, but as a Reaper he can see the size and power of people's souls. That young man was never supposed to die when he did... there was something about him that always eluded him. He finally saw it though, when he took the null from his soul...
It was very large, and very bright. Many strings attached to it, wrapped around, and leading away from the soul as if connecting it to the whole world and people around him. Was this the power of a Ward? A soul who's soul defends others and brings an aura of peace to those surrounding it. Protecting from nightmares and warding away demons of the soul. Perhaps the Null was the perfect power for such a man... perhaps it was also his greatest weakness...

Omega looks over at Chronos.
"You know... it's quite the interesting situation we're in right now." The old man muses.
"With me in here... they can finally get a hand on you without those restraints of yours... I could very well be their only way of sending you to double death row."
He stares at the inky villain with his pale blue eyes, dark rings in circles under them.
"With me alive, you're more vulnerable for them... but with me dead, they couldn't do anything to you like before... and the only reason they are probably going to keep me alive is if they need more restraints on you..."
He smiles.
"Do you understand what I mean? After all... there can only be one..."

Chronos stares at the ceiling in his cell, likely the only thing he hasn't drawn anything on within his reach. "It doesn't have to be today. It could always be eventually..." The old man lays down on his cot. "Be it on death row... Your cell... The cafeteria... The halls... So many possibilities. But how much time do you really have left old friend? We of all people understand time the best."
Omega roll over on his side.

"Another one with a lot of threads tying outward... Funny how it seems like the most apathetic or resistant tend to be like that, huh?"
Behind Ark, a girl with her back to the reaper smiles, hands folded behind her back and gaze focused upward.

"Wardens tend to be stubborn souls. They won't rest till they think they've saved everyone they care about." Ark taps his hand on the tome. "Even death becomes nothing more than a minor annoyance."

Chronos glances back over to his wall of timey crap, and then back over towards Omega's cell. He's reminded of the first time he faced the possibility of the end, and how it prompted him to try and fulfill everything he ever wanted to do. For the most part, he's done everything he could ever want to, with some hiccups along the way, but really he can't complain too much about his run. He's destroyed entire galaxies of player lands, killing thousands, he's slain at least one horrorterror, he's gotten back at the girl that betrayed him so long ago, humiliated his failure of a son, watched them all struggle as he sat back and looked pretty, and even got a good taste of world domination for a while.
But of course, it's never enough. He still wants to prove that he can get out of this place. At this point, far away from Omega as possible.
"KEEP TELLING YΘURSELF TH▲T. THEY'LL NEVER LET YΘU L▲Y ▲ FINGER ΘN ME. YΘU KNΘW THEY UPGR▲DED THEIR SECURITY HERE ▲T LE▲ST 10 TIMES WHILE I'VE BEEN HERE? THEY NEED ME TΘ STRESS TEST THEIR SHITTY PRISΘN. THEY NEED ME MΘRE TH▲N THEY NEED YΘU." At this point he's bluffing to cover up his fear, but at the same time he almost believes his own bullshit.

Omega chuckles. "And why do you think they put me right next to you? Why they even kept me alive at all considering I nearly destroyed their precious void co...? I'm their last line of defense."
