Elsey immediately goes to the bartender.
"I've come here to find my...sister. A girl in a white dress with yellow accessories...We've been looking for her everywhere, ever since we lost her during a storm..."
It was a lie, but it's pretty close to what really happened.
On a floor above them was Kat, keeping the maid company as they sleep. Why she didn't try to sneak out is a mystery. Maybe she wanted to keep them safe? It was the least she could do.
But she feels as if something...or someone was nearby.
Slowly and carefully, she leaves and goes downstairs.

Seth walks over to the bar and stares at the drink. It doesn't exactly look all that much appetising, but he's hopeful that it will work as intended.
He begins drinking it and ugh. Seth noticibly winces at the gross clashing taste, but forces himself to keep drinking.

Niki stops zoning out after a little while, in time to notice somebody walking down the stairs.
"...guys, there she is! ->" She points Kat out, before going going over to meet her at the bottom of the stairs.
"There you are! We've been looking all over! You have no idea how glad we are to see you. ->"
Niki smiles. She's still wearing that duct tape bedsheet cape.

Seth almost chokes on his drink upon hearing that. He looks behind and surely enough, there she is.
He checks to see how much of the antivenom brew is left. Still about half of it.
Fuck it, he can drink the rest later. He's not letting a moment like this slip away from him.
Seth walks away from the bar and over towards Kat. She looks just as beautiful as ever. He can hardly contain himself as he begins to cry.
Pushing Niki gently away to the side, he reaches over to hold Kat in his arms.

A great beaming smile flashes across Kat's face.
"Everyone! You're here...!"
She was so relieved to see that everyone's safe.
She was a little surprised as Seth goes to embrace her.
"O-oh, I hope I didn't worry everyone too much..."
Elsey turns towards her and breathes a sigh of relief.
"Oh, thank goodness..."

Seth holds onto Kat somewhat tightly, though it seems he doesn't have quite as much strength as usual. A good thing? A bad thing? It's a mixed bag. But despite that, his feelings remain the same. Tears have begun to run down his face.
"I missed you so much, Kat... I don't want to lose you ever again..."

Kat seems a little taken back by his words. Almost to the point of shedding a tear herself. She returns the gesture, patting him on the back.
"I missed you too...I was worried with what was going on before I lost consciousness..."
Elsey unfortunately has to snap the two back to the present.
"Let's hurry on back before people start staring at us more awkwardly than they already are. And don't forget to finish your medicine."

The bar patrons are kinda already looking at them. There really aren't that many, probably not any more than 7 of them. Cheshire watches them, Honestly finding them to be kinda cute. Fannie is grinning from ear to ear. A few of them are a little annoyed.
The bartender seems slightly concerned. "Yes, listen to her. The brew doesn't stay fully potent for long so it's best if you get back to finishing it."

Seth takes a moment to get ahold of himself and let go of Kat. He looks behind and seeing the bar watching them has gotten a little awkward. He appears to be blushing slightly.
"...r-ight. Kat, Let's go over here." Seth's voice cracks as he gathers his bearings over the situation. He walks back to the bar proper to finish that terrible drink, expecting Kat to follow.

Kat indeed follows him, though it seems she's occasionally checking the stairs.
Perhaps she's worried about something.

The maid wakes up in bed, with a ringing in her ears and a vaguely renewed drive to continue.
That dream told her everything she needed to know.
She must complete her mission.
But first, she must find her target. And she must be as inconspicuous as possible.
She begins packing her things and preparing to go out.
Meanwhile, downstairs, the activity is quite jovial. Fannie is conversing with the others in the party, noticibly with distance from Seth and Kat.
"Did you see that? Do you realize the implications here? Two words: Canon Ship. They're practically made for each other! I can't believe it's actually a thing! The stories only ever hinted at it, but I know now they are truly the OTP of the Grand Tale."
Cheshire has barely any idea what Fannie is talking about.

"Let's not talk about OTPs near the tw-Wait, hinted at...?"
To think that this is even theorized. Considering the incredibly unreliable narrator of the story...Then again, people may have modified the original text...
This is still a weird thing to think about.

Seth continues to sip on his drink. It still tastes terrible, as antivenom brew is probably supposed to, but at least he's not alone anymore. All the pain he's endured today to reunite with her again seems to have been all worth it.
The brew has started to go to work on him much more efficiently after Kat appeared. His heart has been beating noticibly faster in her presence. Probably wouldn't have even consciously noticed that if he hadn't had experience with a heart container companion.
He wonders how Thoren is doing. Oh right, he's engaged to Raine now. Good for him. Then again, he shouldn't be so bitter when he still has a shot with Kat over here. Seth knows Thoren only got Raine because his chest cavity went up in flames from his jealousy and despair, and they formed a stronger bond after she decided to help him and satisfy his selfish desires.
Eventually he finally finishes the antivenom brew. He hasn't been paying attention to the chatter, but has noticed Kat's uneasy look.
"Kat, is something wrong?" He asks her.

"O-oh, well...I'm just worried about the maid...They seemed to be in a worrying situation."
Kat keeps her voice in a hushed tone, enough for him to hear, but quiet enough to prevent eavesdroppers from listening in.
"They've been ordered to kill me. But the 'Voice of Time' had abandoned them for not finishing the job...I'm afraid they may become desperate enough to go down a dark path...I don't really understand what may be going on, but it worries me to no end."

Seth looks her sternly. He takes on a similarly hushed tone, though it really seems like he wants to speak louder.
"We need to leave, now. I'm not risking your safety for another minute. We need to go somewhere and somewhen that she can't trace us back to."
