HAZEL turns back around, and brushes some dirt off her overalls. "Alright, let's get going then." She offers Nick her hand quietly, heading out with them a few moments later regardless of if they take it.

A mushroom circle pops up nearby to HAZEL and Nick, and a note appears in the circle.

HAZEL trips over a mushroom and falls on her face. "Yowch!"

Nick follows HAZEL out of the place, holding her hand as offered.
They manage to make their way out of the pokemon center without incident... well, until HAZEL tripped and fell.
Nick offers their hand to HAZEL and assists her in standing up, almost on instinct.
"you okay there? Sidewalk sucks to land on."
After that, they notice the note on the ground and pick that up to read it.
Nick sighs.
"Charles... always worrying so much. I guess we better contact them."
Making sure to get out of the way of any foot traffic, Nick uncaptchas their phone to check their messages.

HAZEL pulls out her Pokegear as well and checks the public memo. Fortunately her Gene half didn't change the password. This goes about as well as you would expect and she turns her pokegear back off in a huff. No one can tell this though, since the other HAZEL's pokegear holds the memo connection open for her handle.  |

A couple thermos filled with stew, and a box of poffins is sent through the mushroom circle with a note.
"I'm sorry you tripped."

HAZEL picks up the gifts, and a smile starts to come to her face before she realizes. She boots up her Pokegear to leave a single message. She mentally repeats a promise she made to herself long ago, when they escaped from that retcon thing: Don't be attached to that other world with those other people. I'm back in my world now and we can never return. It's me and Nick against the world. They're my focus, not whatever is happening over there. It's their world, their problems. They'll be the other HAZEL's friends soon enough.
...So why does my heart kinda hurt? It's a bold faced lie, and she knows it. But she ejects the mysterious Pestercord expansion card that had appeared in her Pokegear that indistinct time ago, and shoves it into the depths of her purse's Key Items pocket |

Nick looks up from their phone and walks over towards HAZEL. They can't tell what she's thinking, but they know an excusepost when they see one.
"Do you need anything right now? I could tell that fall hurt just from the look of the landing."

She looks up at Nick with a guilty expression, which she quickly changes to a halfhearted smile.
"Oh I'm.... good. I've taken worse falls, like that lighthouse, you know?"
She laughs awkwardly.

"its alright... I feel the pain sometimes too. Its one of the reasons why I want to get stronger as a trainer. So that I can make a difference in the conflicts that their enemies bring over here."
Nick pats HAZEL's back.
"and like, considering they still bother to check in on us... that proves that they at least still give a damn about us."

After catching a boost in a slipstream, Charon and Diamond manage to approach Crossroad city!
Diamond holds on as they continue towards the pokemon center in the distance.

HAZEL looks up at the rapidly approaching Charizard. "....Woah, get out of the way!!!!!!!!" She shouts, attempting to pull Nick away from the traditional landing spot in front of the door

Nick successfully gets out of the way, slightly confused be the suddenness. They look up at the charizard and its rider.
The rider is very familiar looking.
"What the... is that... Rise?!"
Probably a localized version of Rise, but give a mage a break, they just got pushed out of a common landing spot.
