HAZEL gets her Pokemon healed as a routine habit, before following Nick upstairs.

Nick enters the room. the room is rather small, with a bunk bed, a dresser, a desk, a lamp, a window, a chair, and a mini fridge. It's not much, but it's what a trainer can get for free. the restrooms are apparently communal at the pokemon center.
Nick uncaptchas a number of things, including some pajamas, their pokeballs, some snacks, their phone, their laptop, their sketchbook, and a pencil.

Meanwhile, many miles away, this time actually caught up in time, a phone rings.
Diamond picks it up.
"...what? Something suspicious in crossroad city? A late start fresh trainer with the same first and last name as one that's legally dead? And something about 'another version'?"
A pause to listen.
"...I'll check things out tomorrow. Lemme know where this person of interest is at later so I don't get lost looking for them."
Diamond hangs up.
Finally a lead on something.
They make sure to get to bed soon after that.

The night passes. Nothing special happens in the night beyond that one phone call.
In the morning, Nick's mom finds the huge heavy package, addressed to "Mx. Lightmage", and marked with a symbol she's never seen before.
Six curved lines converging towards an empty center.
She gets Mr Mime to bring the package inside, using an invisible trolley.
Nick sleeps in, tired from the day before. The bustle of much earlier risers can be heard just outside the door.

HAZEL rolls out of bed, yawning. She drinks a bottle of Pink Aprijuice to wake her up faster.

Its another day.
Diamond already has everything packed.
They've checked out at the place they've been staying at.
Its a relatively nice day in Beigeblock city. A slight breeze blowing towards the south. Shouldn't be too much trouble.
Diamond tosses up a pokeball in dramatic fashion. Charon the charizard appears with a resounding roar!
"Alright Charon, we're gonna be going on a trip to Crossroad City. You ready?"
Charon nods.
Diamond climbs onto Charon's back, making sure to be secure in place.
"Charon, fly!"
Charon leaps up and beats his wings, lifting them into the sky!
Soon enough, Diamond and Charon are high above the city. They've got a long flight ahead of them, especially having to get past that mountain.

the phone on the desk vibrates.
Minutes pass, it vibrates again.
Nick mumbles, just on the edge of waking up.
"uuuughhh.... just five more minutes..."
Meanwhile, the noises of trainers just outside the door can be heard still.
Nick stubbornly stays in bed.

Most of the trainers appear quite alert, only a few being particularly tired looking. One of them walks on over.
"hey, its check-out time. You should get packed up soon. The cleaning staff here tend to challenge trainers who sleep in and they've got some pretty high leveled pokemon. Its a hassle for everyone involved really."
Meanwhile, Nick is still in bed.

HAZEL pokes Nick to try and wake them up. "Hey, it's time we checked out."

Nick slowly gets up. They look up at HAZEL, still picking out their eye crust.
"ugh..."
Nick crawls out of bed and stretches.
"is it seriously 11 already?"
The bustle outside the door is lessened, though the communal bathroom is still quite busy at the moment.

"Yep, we slept in pretty late." She says, smiling softly at her traveling companion.

"Can you look away for a moment, I gotta change my clothes real quick."
Nick then uncaptchas their blue jeans and puts them on, not particularly wearing much underneath their light mage robe, Fortunately the robe keeps things rather discreet. They then uncaptcha a shirt.
Its their orange Tigard shirt.
Tigard was their original hometown back on earth.
Regardless, its a comfy shirt that they like to wear occasionally.
Nick slips into the robe, pulling the shirt through one of the long sleeves, putting it on, under cover of their fleece robe.
After that, Nick slips off the robe entirely, revealing the jeans and shirt they had put on. They captchalogue the robe and begin putting on their prosthetic leg and other shoe.
Soon enough, Nick is finally ready. They slip their captchalogue camera into their pokebag.
"alright, I'm ready now."

Diamond and Charon continue flying towards crossroad city to the west. the air is cold and brisk up here. Fortunately, Diamond is well bundled up for the weather, and Charon has a rather warm body temperature while in flight. They don't particularly like the cold, but they can at least handle it.
The peak of Mt Chiller stands proudly, much of the snow and ice of the winter melted off for the summer, aside from patches home to various ice type pokemon.
It takes a while to fully fly past it, but fortunately there's no incident.
They continue flying onward towards their destination...
