The regret orb at the side is shot at by Katie before it can land its blow, screaming as it flails in its botched descent. It manages to swipe at Katie weakly with its claws, but it's hardly even enough to break the skin. It does leave a black stain on her clothes from the leaking ink however.
The far regret orb takes a moment to seek a new target, having been partially blinded by previous attack, only to be stricken by Kusari! It barely hangs on in its screaming, spraying black ink all over him. "AGH!" Kusari yells in anger and disgust, mildly distracted.

Kusari strikes swiftly upon the regret orb he's fighting, punctuating the air with its screams. An explosion of black ink is all that remains of the agonized sphere, like from the distressed ink cartridge of a copy machine. "Fuck if I know! It's a fucking mess, that's all I know!"
The close regret orb, the last remaining, gathers it's bearings for a moment. Electric current begins arcing off of the orb, slowly gaining a charge.

Brrpbrrrapbrrrrap! The regret orb, despite being stuffed with bullets, so many of its eyes being shot out, it desperately tries to continue building up a charge before reaching its limit of ammunition. In a last ditch before exploding in screams and stains, it launches a weak electrical attack at Katie! It's about the equivalent of a load of fuzzy sweaters fresh out of the dryer, with all of their static charged shocks discharged all at once. It's not too harmful, but it does hurt to a degree. The smoke slowly clears from the battlefield in the forest clearing, stained with the blackened blood of the regretful orbs. Kusari is standing there shakily, scythe in hand, staring at the spot where a regret orb once stood. He almost looks like he's breathing hard, but he's mostly just going through the motions out of old habit.

It takes a moment for Kusari to respond. It's been a while since he's allowed himself to be violent, and for some reason, the regrets he took with him to the grave seem to be more powerful than usual. They grip him tightly in place, casting a shadow which can only inspire sorrow. Eventually though, he wipes his silent tears and looks over at Katie.
A friend? Kusari could use one of those right about now. However, before he can break down in front of his friend in gross sobbing and waterworks, Kusari stops himself and remembers their objective here.
"...we need to get the messenger."
Just a short distance away, only slightly out of the range of all the black splotches upon the forest floor, the soul of the messenger waits, still as strong and defiant as ever.

"I'm Katyleen, and that's Kusari. He's like you, in a way." She holds out her hand. "There are some other people trying to find you, but they're not friendly like us. If they got here first, well, you'd get broken down for your spirit energy. Kusari and I got sent by this guy called Theta to rescue you."

The messenger looks confused, bewildered even. "...I don't know what's going on... Can't remember anything either. How do I know you're not just gonna do the scary-ass shit you say the other guys want to do?"
Kusari gives the messenger a look. "Kid, you and me are literally from the same fucking pattern. Us Seths need to stick together in this cold rough afterlife. I trust Katie over here. She knows how to handle a gun if we run into any trouble. Maybe your memories will kick back in on the road. I don't know. It's sure as hell better going with us than waiting here to get turned into glue."
The messenger takes a moment to think. That name, "Seth"... Why is it so familiar? Why does it resonate with him so much? Is this Kusari person telling the truth? He at least seems to be making sense. And another mystery to the pile. Who is Theta? Who would name themselves after the 9th letter of the greek alphabet? So many unknowns... but only one way to find the answers.
"...Alright. I'll go with you two. but no funny business." The messenger accepts Katie's hand. The messenger's ethereal hand feels tingly and slightly chilled to the touch. It's quite easy for him to be pulled up, perhaps easier than expected. "So, where will you be taking me?"
