Somewhere in the void... A dreambubble, smaller than most, floats silently in the darkness. There's a smattering of assorted colors in places, but the primary color appears to be a dull purple, with a prominent blotch of red. Inside, a faded memory persists. It's hard to make out a lot of the details, but it appears to be some sort of forest, on the edge between spring and winter. Upon the ground, a forgotten soul rests. Too weary to move, too tenacious to fade. The one task that would have given him fame and recognition, had led to this unfortunate conclusion. Lost in a scrap of a place that miraculously persisted beyond all reason. Will he be alone forever though? Is this his fate? Is there perhaps... something more to this?

The ding of an elevator. From the blurry ground emerges an elevator, clear and focused.
Kusari steps out and looks around. The elevator closes and lifts off behind him. Somebody must have called it from a higher floor...
A minute later... The elevator, with Katie inside, is falling at terminal velocity, shaking in its perilous descent! It is slowing gradually as it approaches it's destination, but it may be a bit bumpy. What will you do?

She uses her god tier powers to fly gently in the elevator, giving her a much more controlled landing. She then steps out of the elevator.
"Hey, I'm Katie. I'm guessing you aren't the Seth I'm looking for, that'd be too easy."

Kusari turns around to face Katie. He looks rather recent compared to most of the dead seths, wearing a casual grey longsleeve and a pair of black pants with extra chains. There's a red gash across his neck in plain view.
Not the seth she's looking for... how many times has he been "the wrong seth" since he died?
"...Hello. I suppose you're here to help find the messenger too?"
A moment passes, the blurry scenery solidifies slightly around the area. Sakura petals float gently down upon the forest floor; dirt still locked in permafrost. Kusari seems to recognize Katie fairly well. A portion of the ground fades into a chessboard pattern. A memory of a gift given years before.

"Yes, I'm looking for the Messenger." She says, before noticing the changing ground. "Sorry, I'm fresh out of scythes :P"

"I see." Kusari nods. "...At this point, I think I have enough scythes to last an entire lifetime." he offers a curt, almost tired chuckle. Kusari looks around a little more. It appears to be a clearing in a forest. There's evidence of a battle which was once fought here. Vague blotches of ink stain the earth. Fragments of a destroyed treasure chest strewn about. The echoes of hundreds of child soldiers, clashing against... Regret.
"...I'm surprised this place still exists. I thought it got destroyed with the rest of the Lethean Dream."
There's a certain serene stillness to the area, but with a hint of foreboding.

"I.. don't think I've been here before. I used to use the bubble a lot to visit the meteor, but I never went into the inner layer."

Kusari closes his blank eyes for a moment, reminiscing of the past. "It was quite the sight in its hey-day... A true testament to the power of Kat's imagination... I suppose all that's truly left are the second-hand memories of that world."
The clearing is brought into focus more, light streaming from the canopy above.
He opens his eyes once more, piercing white emptiness that somehow still convey his barely suppressed sorrows. "...we should begin searching."
A step forward, and then another.
There is the faint noise of what sounds like a heavy round object rolling against a hard surface...

"Yeah..."
She says, following Kusari.
"What's your Alias btw?"

The two of them walk together on their search. "...Kusari. It's short for Kusarigama. I know it's a weeb name, but it works."
Up ahead, a rather modest crater can be seen. A faded red sphere of light in the center. The outline of a form can almost be seen surrounding it, but it's too faint to make out any details. It should be quite clear who that is however.
"...there he is."
The rolling noise is getting steadily louder...

"..What's that noise?" She says, drawing her SMG.

Three midnight-black spheres of glass roll into the clearing. They speak in an inhuman manner in unison.

Not long, eyes begin appearing upon the surfaces, so many eyes. The eyes cover the entire surface of each of the orbs. They all stare directly at Kusari and Katie.

"...fuck. Looks like we've got company." Kusari summons his scythe, a blood stained scythe with numerous chains hanging off the shaft, likely made more for wall decoration than actual use.
Cringe-inducing cracks ring out as the outer shells of the orbs break open on the sides. Inky liquid like blood spills out as clawed hands emerge. "...Regret orbs."

She aims her gun at the nearest one and pulls the trigger, sending a spray of bullets at it.
"What's a regret orb?"

One of the regret orbs is shot with the volley of bullets, causing it to let out a terrible scream as its eyes are being impacted by numerous bullets. Kusari rushes forward with incredible speed and begins slashing at one of the other regret orbs with reckless abandon. it quickly falls apart with a great bursting POP! Echoed screaches punctuate the air. "AS FAR AS I CAN TELL, IT'S THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES. WE FOUGHT THESE BITCHES LAST TIME. SHOULDN'T BE TOO BIG OF A DEAL WITH OUR COMBINED POWER."
The third one, not being shot or stabbed, skitters out of the direct line of fire and attempts to leap up at Katie from the side! the echoes of a song that was played the first time around... (FF7 Battle theme piano version) The fight feels almost larger than it really is in that moment, almost as if the two of them are two among many also fighting their own battles. However, it remains clear that it's still just a fight of 3 (now 2) against 2.

Katie's wolf ears hear the attempted flank, and she spins quickly to start shooting it before it can reach her.
