Jake blinks before being addressed by Kat. "what's for dinner? I haven't had a good meal in a while." He asks her.
"M-macaroni and cheese. ➜" Niki stutters a bit.
"Sounds good to me! As long as it isn't a juice box." He looks over at the stove. "Is it done yet?"

Meanwhile, Seth rolls over to his side, still asleep.

Kat quickly adds salt to the pot and turns on the stove.
"We aren't quite done yet, so you may want to pass the time. We'll tell you when it's done, okay?"
She goes over and takes the macaroni boxes and takes them over next to the stove, then goes to get what seems to be a stick of butter cut partly.
The water soon comes to a boil and she starts to dump the macaroni into the pot.
... Elsey ponders.
"Wait...There's something weird about that Charles. How in the fuck would he even get to the point when he calls himself the Lightbringer?"

Jake nods. "okay. i can wait."
Seeing as there's not much to help Kat with at the moment, it looks like Niki is stuck with distracting the ghost of her younger brother. What is she supposed to do here? What is she supposed to say? She starts with the obvious. "...So, what... what are you doing here? ➜"
"i don't know actually. i think i like, died or something?" Jake examines himself a little bit. His observations seem to confirm this.
"...yeah... it looks like it. ➜" Niki sighs.
There's a slight pause, but Jake just shrugs. "eh, i didn't think i'd make it outta that cave anyways. so i guess this is it? are you two dead too?"
"Surprisingly no. I was for a while, and I think I she probably was before the rift, but right now the two of us are alive. I didn't even know ghosts could appear in places outside of the furthest ring. I guess it's a thing with the superbubble or something. ➜"
"...okay then? i didnt get most of that but okay then. does that mean i can't eat?"
"umm... darn it, I don't remember this one. I don't think I ate any real food during that time, mostly just imaginary stuff. I think siren cooked some stuff occasionally, but she never offered anything to me. do you have any insight, Kat? ➜"

Thrusters on the Light Bringer spring to life, causing the massive ship to slowly accelerate away from the Victorian.

Niki checks her glasses to use the internet. Surprisingly, Korous's internet is still a thing. Being too lazy to reroute to the furthest ring proxy of the vanilla timeline earth internet, she decides to use Binducgo to look up something. She types in "can ghosts eat food" and hits enter on the rim of her glasses.
Soon enough, she's treated with a list of pages from various archived websites, with posts from dozens of quarteryears ago.
She clicks a post from a long abandoned paranormal message board, with a similarly worded question. None of the posts seem to really get anywhere, often times leaning upon semi religious beliefs and classic horror movie conventions. One or two of them mention anecdotal stories of customary rituals, and then mention the cleanup afterwards, but that's it.
"Darn it, I'm not getting any answers here... freaking archived korous internet... ➜"
Jake continues to wait.

Kat seemed to have been absorbed in cooking, already having done everything with the macaroni and cheese and is just frying up the hotdogs to finish things up.
"H-huh..? O-oh! Right, ghosts and eating! Well, it can either end up two ways: the food just disappears maybe absorbed or just poofs...or it ends up all over the floors and chairs. Depends on the ghost's disposition, really...The latter only happens if they're not really into eating at all...or if they're doing it on purpose. I'm prepared for the latter happening, if you're worried...But you won't do somethhing like that on purpose, would you...?"
Kat looks to Jake with a serene expression...though one would have that strange, creeping feeling one would expect a mother would give a child when asking something like this.

Niki goes to fetch the bowls and forks, knowing it's almost done (and wanting to get a distraction away from Jake). "Man, all that time I wasn't alive I could have enjoyed my alternate self's home cooking while I was over there? Not sure if it makes sense, but dude. ➜"
Jake looks up at Kat. All this ghost stuff is new to him. "...You're being weird. I just want some macaroni."
"Be patient, Jake. It'll be ready when it's ready. ➜"
Jake flips Niki off nonchalantly.

"I just need to mix up the hotdogs with the pasta and we'll be good to go!"
After a bit more preparation, she dumps the hotdogs in the mac and cheese and mixes it up. Placing it in a more appropriate container, she turns to the other two.
"You can go and sit at the table now~ I gotta stay here a little longer for drinks and stuff."

Niki sets the bowls down somewhere nearby. "Alright then. Glad to know it's coming along well. ->" Niki takes this opportunity to try and leave the kitchen without Jake.
He follows her anyways, grinning from ear to ear. He doesn't even make a sound.
Niki walks back out to the lounge, unaware that she's being followed "Hey guys. Mac and dogs is coming up soon. Anything happen while I was in there? ->" she finds a spot to sit nearby. Jake continues to hide just out of her vision, though should be easily seen by others.

The ship has become a tiny dot in the distance, it's orbital path slowing to match the rotation of the planet below.

Nak promptly booted out of the vents. The ship's AI promptly relays a message.
■I suggest that you refrain from squeezing into places you shouldn't. I will not hesitate to take drastic measures to ensure the Commander's ship and belongings are sabotaged in any way shape or form.■
Meanwhile, back at the lounge, Elsey seems to be apprehensive.
"Some weirdo version of Charles popped up outside with his weirdo ship. I'm starting to get a ton of skeevy vibes from it, even if it's gone."
She glances at Jake for a few seconds. She doesn't really recall ever seeing him before...
"Uhhh...Who's this tiny spookmeister over here? His presence is wafting with Otherworldly energy."

"Wait, like, another Charles? Man, how many are there? ->" upon being spotted, Jake walks out of hiding. "Oh come on you ruined my surprise. Thanks a lot, whatever you are." It seems he's never met Elsey either. Would there have been a point of when their paths crossed ever?
Niki jumps in shock slightly, but it's soon replaced by annoyance. She sighs in exasperation. "It's... the ghost of my little brother. I don't know how he got here, he just sorta is. ->"

"...oh, somebody called Alex showed up. He's taken a nap over there." She points over at the guy taking a snooze at a table.
It's difficult to adjust her expectations for those without horns.
Those in her society would either be treated like a child or worse if they never had any horns. It's for this reason that those who accidentally break one or both tend to dress the wound quite dramatically. Then again, these literally are the hornless warriors of legend. At least most of them. The age old superstition over adults without horns still nags at her however... She wonders if humans have similar cultural precedents on those with horns...
Fannie snaps out of her reverie. Niki's back from the kitchen... and a ghost is with her? She takes a good look at the two of them there. The apparition is no more than a crass nubling. Is it common for human children to die so young? Perhaps it was his manners that caused his downfall. Fannie ponders the possible brutalities of human society. What would drive them to end the life of a child? Then again, perhaps she's extrapolating too much. One thing for sure, he does give her the chills, in addition to being rude. She might as well try to get some answers.
"Dear departed one, do you wish to tell us your story? I'm sure there's a lot both parties can learn here." It appears Fannie already has her notebook and pen out, ready to take notes.
