It seems whatever this invisible extra person is, they seem to be helping Theta out with...whatever he's doing.

Soon enough, the boat flips over and begins to tumble down into the underworld bubble below.
Theta attempts to steer the boat's descent. It's difficult, but he seems to be handling it well enough.
The dead city of Necropolis can be seen below, along with an odd taxi with bat wings flying away from it.
