Seth waits for his eyes to adjust to the brighter light of the sun here. He pulls out a pair of sunglasses from his sylladex before remembering that they probably haven't been invented yet.
He puts them back away and pulls out his straw hat instead. He's not sure if even those kind of hats have been invented yet, but at this point he doesn't care. He just wants to get some shade.
At this point it strikes him just how quiet it is being on his own again.
No odd moods, no cross referenced insight, no other voice to keep up rapport, no stressful flare ups, nothing, except for just himself.
A melancholy settles in his heart.
After putting his old hat on, he walks over to somewhere where nobody can see him. He puts on his wristtop and checks the message board.
After reading a few recent messages, his eyes widen in shocked surprise.
"...WHAT THE FUCK?!"
His exclamation echoes through the canyon.
He quickly puts his wristtop away in case anybody heard him.
Is he reading into this right?
Did Thoren really ask for Raine's hand in MARRIAGE?!
Isn't Thoren a little too dead to be marrying a member of the living? Sure, he has a soulbot now, but that doesn't change the fact that he's still dead. He can try all he wants to get closer and closer to the illusion of life, but at the end of the day he's still dead.
Seth decides not to ruin his good mood by burdening him with the truth.
One of the perks of not being connected anymore, being able to keep your thoughts and feelings guarded better.
That sense of security helps Seth feel a little better about being on his own again.
He starts to wonder about Kat. If Thoren and Raine would make a good couple, would he...
Well, he needs to rescue her first before anything.
Seth really hopes she's still safe out there, wherever that maid took her.

Elsey makes her way forward, trying to sense where the exit would be...Divining a path that leads to fresh air.
She hears something loud.
That was probably Seth...She still worries about him. He's been acting real, real strange...
"Say, what's been going on on the other side, anyway?"

"From what I've read lately, a lot of stuff. A bubble exploded, the meteor broke, final boss showed up and killed Micha, some pawn from a doomed timeline did some research, some other thing popped out of the woodwork, null got toast, and something involving the stage. I'd have to ask and read more later, bit that's what I could glean from earlier. ➜"
Niki continues climbing the stairs. They should be almost back up to the top now.

Elsey has her priorities straight.
She starts to wonder on their way out...What's going to happen to the ones from the other side once they deal with whatever problem they have?
Would they come here? Would they make their way to another universe?
What would happen if they met their counterparts here if they do decide to come here?
...But she sets these questions aside for now, there are more urgent things to ask about.
Like how the hell were they going to find Kat.

"Let me check real quick, this kinda stuff can change pretty fast with them. ➜" Niki checks the message board with her glasses while climbing the stairs.
She blinks a couple times after reading a last couple posts.
"...well then. I guess that answers a couple questions. From the sound of it, she's doing okay right now. Not only that, but apparently she's now engaged to Thoren? I'm not sure what she sees in him though... ➜"
Niki recalls just a little while ago when Seth was trying to yell at Thoren about something and was acting weird. Does this have anything to do with that?
"Like seriously, not only is Thoren a ghost in a robot or something, but he's also the ultraviolent jerkwad that ruined the entire Jinglorian elf session. Pretty much undateable in my opinion, but who knows. I hope she knows what she's getting herself into... ➜"
They finally make it to the top of the stairs and make it to the empty worker campsite.
There appears to be a path that leads into the light just a little ways away.

Elsey looks down.
She remembers a few timelines where her best friend has gotten into an ambiguous relationship...It didn't go well and left her friend scarred and without any sense of self worth.
"...We should hurry."
She points down toward the singular path and starts to walk.

Fannie, who has been quietly following along, listens to their idle gossip. While a lot of it seems to go over her head, it's still rather fascinating. A lot of it seems like it could be from one story or another due to the content, but much of it is all unfamiliar.
Niki's confirmation on this Thoren character seems to put things into perspective... slightly. The whole "ghost in a robot" thing, along with him being in a relationship with anyone seems a bit... off?
"Wait, are you saying there is a such thing as ghosts? Or is it just a really really well programmed AI? Because in my time, they have progressed quite a bit in that field. Not quite to replicating a person's thought patterns and personality, but pretty far nonetheless. I think this one guy almost got a chat bot to pass the Beiding test, but he's still got a lot of work to do..."
They all walk for a little bit until finally they reach the light and...
Those that do not actually have slit style eyes will find themselves assaulted by the sun's radiance. Those that do can easily adjust to the dramatic change in lighting.
Fannie looks over at the less fortunate with confusion, especially considering they probably still have their disguises on.
"um... are you guys okay? I know it's bright out and all, but it's not that bright out."

Seth climbs out of hiding and walks back over towards the group.
"What the fuck is with the sun here? Can I just make it night-time so we don't have to deal with this eye-searing bullshit?"

It's so tiring trying to keep up with that hyperactive chump. Where does he get his energy?
"This is, something I didn't exactly expect, but probably should have seen coming. The lighting on the viewport was pre-calibrated to not be entirely terrible and I'm guessing this is why. ➜"
Niki points up while trying to shield her eyes from the sun's overly bright rays.
"While I think solving this problem with more time travel is a little risky, we still need to figure something better out. ➜" She looks down at the hat she can't even wear since her fake horns are in the way.
It's at this moment that she remembers that Fannie is still following them.
"...um...... ➜"

"Hey uh, just figured to let you guys know that the nanites are completely toast after going through that timeportal, and I'm getting a great degree of temporal interference so this is probably one of the only messages I'm going to be able to get to you. In short, don't die. ~*Azure"

Elsey looks to the others that are probably susceptible to the intense rays of this planet's sun...
She ponders to herself, there's a magic spell for this, right?
Well, she know's there's a spell for night vision, maybe if she alters the spell a little bit...
After a few seconds of thinking, she starts to whisper words.

Elsey and the members of the group that aren't well adapted to the sun are unfortunately met with temporary blindness.
"fUCK!!! THAT DIDN'T WORK!!"
Elsey slaps herself in the face as she tries to remember the words to dispel magic.1-6

Seth is blinded by the spell. How did he get into all of this? How did he wind up losing his connection to Thoren, watch as he goes off to get married, find out his eyes are incompatible with the bright light of the sun, and then just go completely blind? To top it off, there feels like there's a great conflict just barely able to be perceived, along with a headache and his broken horn.
At this point, Seth almost wants to break down and cry, again.
But, he won't.
He's humiliated himself enough with all these sudden outbursts of emotion.
So instead, he sits down on the ground, cross-legged and eyes closed.
He holds it in.
There's nowhere else for it to go though, he doesn't have Thoren as an extra outlet anymore.
Seth silently cries as a few tears streak down his face.
This is embarrassing, but there's nothing else he can do.

Niki notices a notepad message pop up on her glassestop before suddenly loosing her eyesight.
"I take it this isn't supposed to happen? is there a way to fix this? I can't see squat. ➜"
She turns her head about left and right, blinking a couple times and takes off her glasses for a moment to rub her eyes.
"also, can somebody else with my prescription check the dumb pop-up on my glasses? I don't know how to navigate it blind. ➜"
