Mike gently removes Elsey from his back and then approaches the rose. He pulls out a capsule in which he places the rose and pot into, sealing it.

There is a note behind the rock, written in sharpie on a dried, slightly warped piece of cardboard.
"if it hasn't been moved, my body should be located on Heir Island by the time you find this rose. Please do what you think is right, and thank you. ->"
The coordinates of the island's location are written on the back of the cardboard piece.
Also, there appears to be an off switch nearby.

Mike observes the off switch a moment. This must be the switch for the fans outside the door. He goes ahead and flips it, then returns to the note and inputs the coordinates on his holoscreen. "Time to thwart the reaper as it were."

The lights go out. Also, all 5 or 6 fans in the previous room turn off, as well as the two air conditioners. It's still kinda cold in there, but at least it's not a freaking tundra.
In a further back room however, something is activated...

The walk back through is somewhat uneventful, almost disappointingly so.
At some point in the long dark hallway however, a familiar pop song can vaguely be heard, muffled behind a layer of rock and cardboard. A little bit further and you might be able to recognize it...

Mike hits his omnitool gauntlet and extinguishes the flames. He smiles a little but ultimately just shakes his head.

The fire is now out, and oddly enough the cardboard is mostly intact.  The way back is clear once again. The exit is just beyond the open cardboard doorway. |

Mike leads on out back to the lake exit/entrance. He turns to Elsey. "Will you be coming with me?"

There are thankfully no issues upon resurfacing. Both Elsey and Mike make it back to the surface just fine.  The suns are shining brightly today, though it isn't really all that warm around this time of year. It's at least a comfortable mild chill though. A great day to go on a trip to a far-away island. |

"Yeah, got them right here. Just follow me." After he dries off again, he kicks off the ground and soars into the air, red gears appear at his ankles as he seemingly "skates" across the air waves towards his destination.
