This is mostly for planning/important info archive in case the chat sweeps stuff away.
Please add event elements to this form!
Things that have been figured out so far:
This RP will be hosted on Charat, which is ran by sho, who is apart of our group. For some odd reason logs only seem to work while sho is in the chat, so otherwise they will need to be collected manually if any at all.
-There is a "memo-style memo"
--this is an old favorite from the sbargv2 era, which will allow for long-distance down-time communication, as well as during mission coordination.
--for those that have forgotten how they work/have never used one before: it is an irc chat that can be used by the characters and the librarians to communicate to eachother through text, from wherever they are (unless special circumstances blocks this).
-There will probably be an out-of-character chat for discusion outside, as well as a place to explain stuff outside of the setting to new folks
-The library will have it's own memo/chat where its events take place.
-Each adventure location will have its own memo/chat when required.
Curators of The Grand Archive
-v2esque "battle system"
(doesn't have a formal one, mostly flavor-based rather than number based, though can support more number stuff if needed/wanted)
-non librarian oc's must be from an established pre-existing fictional verse
--if you have a fan character from a thing, like a purple kirby or a some random dude who married the bombchu bowling lady or something, that's totally cool. You can't just toss in stuff like "this is sizzler hottieman from a game i made a while back. his power is being smexy.", it has to be able to fit into a setting/medium that would actually get an outside audience. If clarification is needed, please ask a couple folks in the group for a recommendation. This is presumably for balancing and solid available canon reasons?
-Each new player starts out with 2 maximum character slots, plus a librarian.
--A brand new player should be able to jump in as a single character if they want to.
--librarians need to be from sort of real world location (can be a little vague on this, but they should have a home country or something)
--more characters can be allowed after being established, likely after showing up for a week or something.
-Anyone can run events if they want to!
--the first event's logs will be saved to use as a guide in assisting folks in creating their own events.
--They can probably be ran without any sort of permission given, though it might be nice to have the larger ones get some sort of heads-up so the group can prepare for it.
Practice basic rp etiquette!
--always assume your actions could be cancelled or foiled when wording them!
--don't be a jerk
--please don't try to railroad, if you want players to follow your path, give them an incentive to do so.
--Remember that when you are running an event in a new area, the immediate areas are defined by what you tell them and every detail could be expanded on if they want to explore it. if you don't want them climbing over the fence, throw them something that will motivate them on the side you want them to be on.
-Very strong abilities are nerfed outside of their source material, dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
We are in Greenland, in some kinda really cold mountain base.
locations in the main base:
-hangout area
-training area
-food area
-hotel-rp style endless hotel
-regular library
-deep hidden super library (the Archives)
-warp area (within world and trans-media areas)
Librarians/Curators are recruited from all over the world and are sent to the base via special warp portals. Shipments also make their way to the base from some of these locations.
If there is anything that needs to be added/discussed, please post it!
