The Charcherry Weekly
Hey there, Mage of Light Nick Card here. Its been raiiiining lately. We got news to focus on though.
Heated Fights on Dawnsring!
Early this week, a new desertian combatant made their debut in the Dawnsring Divine Combat Circuit's Light League. Reportedly they're a 3 in 1 type of fighter, with three different identities and 3 different combat styles. Together they are known as the Light of Hope. The members of the Light of Hope system include Heir of Hope Whirlwind of Prospit, denizen-made construct the Acting Monarch, and Thief of Light the Dungeon Mistress. Short, medium and long distance ranges respectfully.
Their first match was against the Patchwork Terror, an elderly seamstress with a perchance for crafty tricks. She made use of a magically animated plush toy that appeared to resemble the late timespace monster chronos.
The Acting Monarch took center-stage at match start, but soon swapped out for the Dungeon Mistress. She made use of distracting elements to set up for the Whirlwind of Prospit to strike! The match continued on with some back and forth, copious amounts of front swapping, some string cutting, and finally a finishing blow from the Acting Monarch, who claimed victory for the Light of Hope by shoving the Patchwork Terror and her plush out of the ring!
With a win under their collective belt, the Light of Hope managed to attract the attention of the DSPAN tv channel, who then proceeded to obtain the broadcast rights to their matches, as well as for Time Trancer, so that their bouts can be broadcasted on a new substation of DSPAN known as DSPAN-DR. Do note that this new channel is a payed channel, in contrast to standard DSPAN, which is always free to watch. Monthly fee is 50 credits per household, with an initial receiver setup fee of 10 credits per device.
For those who don't wish to pay to watch new matches, DSPAN has also partnered with NABC to broadcast the fights on neo alternia, desertian territories, and other places that may pick up the NABC-2 channel. These will not be live and instead will be on a time delay of sorts and will be dubbed in alternian for localization reasons. Desertian viewers can access english closed caption subtitles for this channel.
Other desertian and neo alternian dawnsring fighters are encouraged to contact DSPAN if they wish for their fights to be aired, via the email address dr-viewer-contact@dspan.desertia.robotics . Please note that this email address (much like everything else on the .robotics domain) cannot be reached from the vanilla timeline for unknown reasons.
On thursday, a second desertian fighter joined the fray, under the name NullPointerException. Reportedly she is a nonplayer with an expert grasp on weaponized sylladex usage and uses a combat exoskeleton to increase her fighting capabilities.
NPE's first match was against The Light of Hope, who certainly didn't go easy on her! However, NPE had the element of surprise on her side, as she made excellent use of the classic Random Bullshit technique, engaging in comedic antics during the entire match. Reportedly she also tried to throw a nokia brick phone at LoH, only for the Acting Monarch to hit a home-run with their scepter! A very lucky audience member managed to catch the phone and even got it signed later on! Upon retrieval however, the phone rang in classic nokia fashion and played the catchy ditty from the level 1 ending to the flipjam fanventure Dial-In Mishaps upon being answered. At some point, NPE wound up using a ThinkPad laptop as a shield, and a computer keyboard as a smacking device.
NullPointerException managed to win against Dungeon Mistress by knocking her out of the ring with the keyboard.
After the match, the two (plus the other two) desertian fighters shook hands and returned home.
The next day, a new memo was set up for fighters and fans to discuss things at #dawnsring-fighters. All currently contracted desertian fighters are present there, willing to field questions from their dear viewers and enthusiasts alike, within reason.
Reportedly, there are plans for a state-of-the-art movie theater to be built in Desertia Town, for the purpose of hosting dungeon crasher movie nights and likely free screenings for desertian residents to enjoy at all other times.
Do note that it is in deep planning phase and may take a significant amount of time to be designed and built.
In the meantime however, movie night will continue to be hosted online in the #movie-night-group-chat when it is scheduled.

This week’s known market stands in Desertia Town:
-DTA train ticket stand
-Katie’s potion stand (Not available to plitlanders due to regulations, available to all others however)
-shinyjiggly pokesnacks stand (also has a Unity Village location!)
-Candy stand
-Costume stand
Progress is inching along for HyacinthHeld, now finally to a point with significant level design. Admittedly I've been distracted by news elsewhere of the pokemon mega-leak, particularly internal documents that are close enough to canon to have impact upon the pokemon world as we know it. No comment on the apocryphal legends deemed unsuitable for a young audience, you know which ones they are.
I will say however, you might want to consider seeking out the keys soon. Analysis from recovered files has revealed that there may be a key present in the Alchemy Factory department.
Stay safe out there.
