The Charcherry Weekly
Hello everyone, Mage of Light Nick Card here. Its certainly been one heck of a week. Let's get to it.
Dangit romper
Early this week, a flash drive was recovered by seemingly arbitrary means (random appearification by a curious wandering pokemon in the hardware workshop). It had apparently been one recognized by Heir of Hope Hazel Careon. She managed to retrieve a number of files off of it, which had to be won back via dice game. Vriskers used her luck to win the dice game and Gwyn used their quick draw to distribute the contained information to trusted parties.
It was revealed that Ultimate Defense Attorney Katyleen Kitten had been accepted to Hope's Peak University in the past and ended up being forced to participate in a seemingly endless cycle of death games, reset with the participants forced back to life in their previous states once a year since september 2016.
Driven to find out more, investigative reporter Aeons Edgeworth made a request to the SCP Foundation for more information, and had been put on a mailing list. As it turned out, this year's death game cycle had just started, and Ultimate Prosecutor Lightyears Edgeworth of this present point in time (no relation to Aeons) had also gotten kidnapped with Past Katie there.
Reportedly, there is an advanced voidco dungeon core in play here, with the ability to maintain the looped time circuit, as well as a few other effects. Unfortunately, there is also a forcefield that makes entry and exit impossible as one of the notable features, so broadcast video content is the only way to keep tabs on the incident as it happens annually. The footage we are receiving has been screened by the foundation to make sure there aren't any cognitohazards being sent out. Because of the sensitive nature of the events, present Katie has not been in a good state lately, but thankfully her friends are offering their support.
Regardless, further investigation is expected to continue as more video files are sent over.
Welcome to Neo Alternia!
On monday, an object known as the patriorb was recovered from another universe and sent to a trusted individual. The anonymous figure proceeded to sleep for three days.
A few days later, a council was formed and held a meeting in a specially designated train. This council was comprised of a number of private individuals, but also included Rogue of Heart Charles, Heir of Time President Thoren Emit, Julian Ezinca, Garfie Lazaga, Exieda Olvegi, and at least one version of Skye M.
The council made plans on how to handle the imminent release of the rescued trolls of Scarab city from the patriorb. It was decided that a stage would be set up with sound equipment, and that replicators would be deployed to provide food and water. An anonymous healer was put on healing duty.
This process of uncaptchaloguing (after auto-sorting) took a number of hours, with surprisingly minimal chaos until the timelocked cards began to be deployed. Page of Rage Jovin Castle was called upon to help the council defend the trolls from surprise attacks.
Eventually however, the main council member, who had viciously proved herself as a terrifying opponent in battle, got up on stage to introduce herself. She identified as Her Enigmatic Resiliency, and tossed the dead corpse of the Her Imperious Condescension upon the stage to let it be known that the previous emperess was dead and gone, and would be replaced by HER. She proceeded to offer an encouraging speech about the rights that would be afforded to the trolls of Neo Alternia, in contrast to the lack of rights before. However, HER was gunned down on stage and died then and there.
But this was not the end.
Her Enigmatic Resiliency rose from the dead before her subjects, and shocked the audience as she continued her speech, calling the attack "rude". Peace was re-established quickly after that.
At this point, reconstruction on Scarab city is continuing, ties to korous have been established, an industrial replicator has been installed, and the future is looking sufficiently unlit for the nocturnal horned grey children of Neo Alternia.
Your dear newsletter writer managed to get an online interview with Her Enigmatic Resiliency.
Here is the entire interview:
HER: Hello, I'm ready for the interview whenever you are.
LS: I'm ready, just had to attend to some things for a moment
LS: Alright, so, you're Her Enigmatic Resiliency, correct?
HER: That is correct, yes.
LS: Ah, its nice to meet you.
HER: Likewise.
LS: Anyhow, I have a few questions for you.
LS: First question: it appears from the footage that Neo Alternia is still a work in progress. Do you have any idea how long it may take with current known resources to rebuild from what had been transferred over?
HER: I cannot estimate that accurately. I'm hoping we get virtual infrastructure working in the next couple of nights and work from there.
LS: Ah, that sounds like it'll go quick there.
HER: I'm thankful for all the aid provided, and my subjects are handling things remarkably well, considering the distressing circumstances.
LS: That's good. That also brings me to my next question:
LS: What ties does Neo Alternia have to Korous, considering President Thoren's presence at the presentation?
HER: Neo Alternia is currently within the Korosian solar system, and so is technically under their jurisdiction for now.
HER: We have agreed to work together to ensure the safety and rights of Neo Alternia.
LS: That's good to hear. From what I've gathered, the Emit Administration has done very well at getting Korosian society up and running again, with more agreeable policy than before The Reckoning. I trust you've got a strong ally there.
HER: I believe their experience will be helpful with my plans for Neo Alternia, yes.
LS: Next question: It's been reported that 99% of the troll population on Neo Alternia is relatively young, apparently due to prior enforcement of adult/child segregation practices. Will such practices be ended, and what will be done about conventional concerns regarding child labor in a place where most labor is qualified as such out of necessity?
HER: The practice of forcing adult trolls off of Alternia has ended yes. No troll need fear their Ascension Day any more.
HER: Child labour is a tricky subject. I wish to end it as soon as possible, yet there are not many adults to take up the role.
HER: Child labour in dangerous industry is something I look to ending as soon as possible. I am open to hearing any suggestions.
LS: That is encouraging to hear. I do hope that it's addressed relatively soon.
LS: are there any particular statements you'd like to offer before we wrap this up?
HER: I plan on making Neo Alternia the best place for any troll to live. I am open to hearing any suggestions or honest feedback.
HER: However, do not mistake my desires and politeness for complacency.
LS: understood. what would be the appropriate channels for the public to voice suggestions and feedback?
HER: For those outside Neo Alternia, I have this user account. Staff of The Railway and the DTA can handle forwarding physical letters.
HER: For those within Neo Alternia, my administration is currently based within the central railway station of the relocated Scarab City.
LS: Good to know. It was a pleasure speaking with you. I wish you and your world the best of luck.
