The Charcherry Weekly
hello everyone, Mage of Light Nick Card here. Somehow, I think we're gonna be alright. Don't ask me how, but there's gotta be something.
Jojo's Bizarre Park Secret
Rather recently, somebody new showed up in Unity Village. His name isPane Stainglass and he is apparently a stand user, as well as a relatively obscure member of the lost pawns. Reportedly, his stand, 「Living on a Prayer」, continuously heals him and can allow him to heal others by contact, direct or tangential. After shaking his hand, your dear newsletter writer's back felt less sore than before and my finger no longer has a paper cut, so that seems to confirm it. He also has a hisuian Zorua that's often seen perched on his shoulder. For the time being, Pane is staying in town, assisting at the pokemon center when needed. Apparently, he had recently went on a special mission with Maid of Void Skitis to investigate The Park, which had been found suspicious of containing a dungeon core underneath it, due to an odd battery draining pattern observed at The Park's recently completed train station.
Skitis and Pane managed to uncover a great deal of evidence during their investigation.
First of all, there is indeed a dungeon core located under the park. Reportedly it operates on a pulse cycle, draining once per hour for a brief moment. Apparently it was not shut down because it had analog controls, and the team did not have the expertise to deactivate it safely, with record numbers of visitors up above in the park proper.
Secondly, there is an ectobiology lab there, which had apparently been used to try and clone a variety of legendary pokemon, without results however. Labels on the vats included "Mewtwo", "Genesect", "Kubfu", "Type: Null", and "Ori. One", reportedly also labeled "failure".
Thirdly, the poke armor department has a set of armor that appears to have been crafted (at high quality) for a certain pokegod to wear.
Other findings include a gold pokeball meant for holographic pokemon (possibly mirage pokemon, like in that special episode that came with the Lucario pokemon movie on dvd?), reports on various methods of pokemon empowerment, including mega stones, dynamaxing, terastalyzation, and other things. oddly enough, there was also research regarding digimon mixed in there too, as well as one or two books on caring for pokemon.
Skitis and Pane were able to narrowly escape, aided by diversionary tactics, courtesy of Rogue of Heart Charles.
Later that night, there was a commotion in town due to a certain well dressed prosecutor pulling up with LOUD RAP MUSIC FROM HIS FANCY SPACE SPORTSCAR THING. I should ask at town hall if there's any ordinances regarding loud music at night while in the village. Regardless, Lightyears Edgeworth was in town to pick up a sample of ectoslime that was obtained byPane during the mission, to be examined by "a guy", whoever that might be. It is unknown how long this will take, but I figure it'll take until at least monday.
ReportedlyPane was seen practically hyperventilating after that short meeting.
A few days later, your dear newsletter writer finally actually metPane at the library. He handed me a list of captchalogue codes to be alchemized, apparently having no grist to his name, despite apparently being a godtiered player of the game. Regardless, I thanked him for the codes and alchemized the results myself. Fortunately it wasn't too expensive to alchemize the full set. It turned out to be a great big stack of books and hardbound research notes that had been seen at the The Park. Having sorted through it myself, it looks like most of these books cover subjects regarding pokemon types and energy, as well as different methods of pokemon empowerment. There's also some papers involving the kind of digimon that Charles is afraid of accidentally leading his own digimon into digivolving to, though not much headway had been put into that. In addition, some books on pokemon care that will likely come in handy for the average visitors to the library.
Roughly a day after that, Rogue of Heart Charles, having last been seen sabotaging the technological integrations of the haunted house at The Park, was found at the Door Platform, having been brought into the pokeball shaped enclosure by a group of Space Forme shedinja, who had reportedly found charles floating in space, somewhere between the moons, possibly too close to a hatellite (hat satellite). Page of Rage Jovin was lead to the scene to pick Charles up from the location. Your dear newsletter writer directed Jovin towards the pokemon center, since I knew that Charles would not take getting stuck at the hospital well. Fortunately,Pane was available for healing services there, and was able to heal Charles of all injuries, though reportedly they still had a slight numbness left over from all those zap cannon attacks.
After pouring over the evidence and research, I felt that there was someone I had to ask questions to: Little Beepo. The curious little mech-vee that's been researching with me at the library for at least a few months now. Knowing that they had been working with Jojo before, I had to ask them if they knew what he was trying to do. The answers I got involved seemingly aspirational elevator pitches, though with limited communication methods, little beepo had to stack books to communicate complex ideas. What managed to come across though, was the idea that the frog-universe Gene is sick in some manner, and that the mech-vees went out into the field for better data to seek answers on this.
From what it seems, the answer they sought seems to reside in the divine, as Little Beepo and a number of nearby mech-vees proceeded to build a complex book sculpture that appeared to look like The Original One. The books used to build the divine effigy however, were quite varied. The legs were made of books about the concepts of time and space, people and emotions, pokemon and the nature of reality. The body was built out of a number of creation myths, including homestuck, but also more traditional ones. However, the head was made of a pokemon book, a book about souls, a book about a soul stealing machine, and a book about soul stealing and combining.
Corroborating from this, and whatSkitis had told the group, it has become plainly clear:
Jo-baddie Rogue of Heart Jojo is trying to summon a hologram version of Arceus, potentially do some sort of heinous hearty thing, put the original one in custom armor, possibly even combine with Them, and then use Their Power to remake the entire universe in his image, which would destroy Everything and Everyone in Gene in the process. Which is to say, this is the kind of shit that Ex-galactic Cyrus was trying to do, but at a higher scale.
That being said, even if Jojo does fail, it still won't bode well for anyone in this universe. Knowing even what happened to Mage of Life Blaze and the world she was sent to, its easy to see just how bad things could get, even for a best case scenario.
Regardless, it is mine and my sibling's opinion that something ought to be done about Jojo and his plans to rip the universe a new one, but unfortunately, the only particular action that can be taken at this time is to avoid The Park. Any other specific actions that can be taken at this time are unknown.
A Terrible Fate avoided...?
Earlier this week, a figure with the most unnecessarily long chumhandle showed up in the memo, referred to as "BEARER OF THE WORD 'KILL', WEAPON FROM BEYOND THE EDGE, REAPER OF POSSIBILITY, OBSERVER OF BIRDS", or simply poob. They had stated that they are under contract to end the dungeon crashers, most likely in a highly fatal manner. A date and time was set for this stressful moment, but somehow it never came to pass. I do wonder if a doomed timeline had been avoided recently, considering a full party wipe would definitely be a doomed timeline.
Further investigation needed.
In other news however, on the 11th, the Korosian capital was filled with bustle as the Grand University of Time's Bounty officially opened, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and everything! Korosian President Heir of Time Thoren Emit was there personally, and gave a lengthy speech which was broadcasted on Korogov. They spoke a lot about how knowledge from Korous's past is what allowed it to rise from the ashes, and that to continue its growth, the knowledge must be shared and built upon. That being said, residents of korous who plan on going into various career fields on-planet will have the lowest tuition, with financial aid offered to those in need. Exchange students from off-world and beyond will also be accepted, but with higher tuition, though there will be scholarships made available. Classes are set to start in February.
As a reminder, the pink and red lines both stop at the korosian capital, making for easy travel there, in addition to the extensive transportalizer system across all current settlements.
This week’s known market stands in Desertia Town:
-Katie’s potion stand (Not available to plitlanders due to regulations, available to all others however)
-shinyjiggly pokesnacks stand (ran by Rufus)
- korosian sun-strength sunglasses
- Exp candy stand
- plastic slot machine pencil sharpener stand
Utility Footwear stand:
- Skates, ice (1 gp)
- Boots, fire-resistant (20 gp)
- Boots, softpaw (25 gp)
- Snowshoes (5 gp)
- Skis (5 gp)
I think that covers about everything.Who exactly is Pane? What is going on with Thoren lately? Why do so many alchemized computers have a HCF (Halt and Catch Fire) operation? Maybe not all of these have answers worth looking into, but maybe there will be more answers next week. For now, I have more drawing to do.
