The Charcherry Weekly
This is Mage of Light Nick Card. I can hear honking outside, it must be another week of news.
The Clockwork Debacle
Early this week, it was reported that the people of Ironways City had been forced to evacuate due to a dungeon core that had landed there. It took them until thursday to meet up with the party, which began camping right outside of the town of Rockwood.
The party, as a reminder, consists of Sorcerer Saryn, Prince of Heart Red, Rogue/Artificer Coleman, Netnavi Enker, Fighter Kale Ominoi, Prince of Time Flux Emit, and Makuhita.
The party met up with the elders, and Kale briefly reunited with his loving parents.
Soon after, the party began their journey in earnest, with greater urgency than before. The party also met up with a wandering fighting monk known as "Krill", who had met up with the caravan of Ironways a few days ago. It is worth mentioning that Krill is apparently absolutely ripped, very tall, and has ridiculous arm strength.
During the trip, there was only one encounter, against a flesh eating horse. It was dispatched against easily, with Krill landing the killing blow, decapitating the horse. The rest of the horse was dressed for... later consumption?? Excuse me, but why in the heck did this guy want to eat a flesh eating horse? what if it had prions?
Anyhow, the party eventually reached the base of Ironways Mesa, situated in the middle of a desert. To enter the city, the party had to enter a locked cave entryway, operated by a valve wheel near a recently moved boulder. Krill and Enker worked together, and wound up twisting it too hard, making it break after unlocking the cave entryway. Following Kale's lead, the party rushed inside before the stone door slammed shut once more. A brief inclined cave walk later, the party arrived at the impossibly tall rusted fortress walls of the fabled clockwork city of Ironways. Fortunately the average sized doors were unlocked.
The party entered the desolate city, devoid of any and all residents, except for one. A harmless clockwork eevee approached the party, and was quickly adopted by Saryn.
Upon reaching district six (the city having a district for each of the twelve clock face hours), the party found a hole in the ground, where the core had dropped. Having received information beforehand via the Grand Network, Saryn had the foresight to purchase more than enough rope for the group to descend down the 40 meter deep hole.
Soon after descending, the party encountered a bunch of different monsters. A few clockwork spiders, a quadrupedal eyeball creature known as a panopticon, and a fiend known as a berbalang. The spiders were dispatched of easily by Saryn's all-hit lightning, but the panopticon saw fit to strike her with an eye beam laser. Meanwhile, Flux fought against the berbalang, and Kale sprung into action to fight the panopticon. Coleman and Krill also fought well against the monsters, while Enker infiltrated the core directly in order to turn it off.
Eventually, the party eliminated the monsters and Enker managed to deactivate the core. Saryn was only still standing due to calling upon The Network to for support. The party ascended the rope and went their separate ways for a long rest (except for Enker, they wound up staying up all night and didn't plug in until the next day.)
The next day, after some much needed recovery time, the party reconvened and the core was pulled successfully to the surface, to possibly be studied at a later date. Reportedly, the people of Ironways will return to their city on monday, so until then at least some of the party will be stationed in the city.
Happenings in Unity
It has been somewhat lively in Unity Village as everyone is preparing for the 2nd annual summer festival. A great number of trainers have signed up for the tournament, including what appears to be a father-son duo, though there is a high chance that both of them are Jo-baddies in disguise. They are being watched carefully.
Page of Mind Samm is signed up to run a stand or two, as well as Prince of Time Aeons Edgeworth, testing the waters with further plans for their snack stand. There are rumors of The Park getting a stand again this year, but thankfully Motor Industries (ran by Jojo of the Jo-baddies) does not appear to be on the docket this time.
Your dear newsletter writer plans on running an open house at the local library during the festival, to promote the library as a local destination for reading and research.
Rather recently, Toa Bota obtained a new wrist-top, by request of Unity Mayor Brae Emit. As a result, the public is now aware of their recent antics.
Bota reportedly spent some time experimenting with punchcard alchemy, somehow ending up with their new sylladex allocated to the very dangerously ejecting Boole modus.
Fortunately, they were able to switch to the much more tame array modus, but a certain scheming goose pokemon managed to steal the boole modus card. One can only worry in horror about what that goose might do with a modus that can launch things so easily...
Why so Terce?
Rogue of Heart Charles remains in the hospital, but continues to contact the memo while asleep. The entity that is currently in control of Charles has recently informed the group that Jo-baddie Jojo (apparently also a rogue of heart) is more than likely behind your current condition, Hyacinth. I assume that refers to the fact that you got crammed into the body of a weakened clone of yourself. This claim has yet to be confirmed however.
In addition to this, the entity also proposed an offer, which will need to be put into legal format at a later date, roughly stating that they would back off and let Charles resume control, as long as the dungeon crashers eliminate Page of Darkness Dylan's influence by the year 2029. As a reminder, this has yet to be made official. However, the entity did end up wondering about a name to be called by. Eventually somebody suggested Tercet, which apparently has something to do with a poetry format that involves the number 3 somehow.
At some point afterwards, Tercet was able to contact Jojo on the memo, who proceeded to be lead by Tercet to misspell rogue to "rouge" enough times to summon Rouge the Bat to infiltrate the hideout of the jo-baddies.
Apparently, one of the Jo-baddies gave her a list of a few other places to raid afterwards, likely out of spite. She proceeded to follow the tips and after procuring some choice loot, sent Brae a magical gift as thanks.
This week’s known market stands in Desertia Town:
-Katie’s potion stand (*CaFAI filling in for Katie when unavailable)
-shinyjiggly pokesnacks stand (ran by Rufus)
I think that covers as much as I can write tonight. Kanjaweii has been struck by a mysterious withering, which may be evidence of voidco activity. Other than that, I need to get back in gear with that flash animation soon. I just wish it wasn't so hard to find the focus and energy.
