Amy: I'm... I'm s-sorry... He came in so fast, and I-Guard: The Amulet, where's the Amulet of Kings? It wasn't on the Emperor's body.I remember the ruby amulet he had given me earlier, and held it out. Amy: You mean th-this?Guard: Yes, that's it! How do you have it?Amy: He gave it to me! J-just 8efore the Emperor d-died, he gave it to me.Guard: ...Strange. He saw something in you. Trusted you. They say it's the Dragon Blood, that flows through the veins of every Septim. They see more than lesser men. The Amulet of Kings is a sacred symbol of the Empire. Most people think of the Red Dragon Crown, but that's just jewelry. The Amulet has power. Only a true heir of the Blood can wear it, they say.Amy: S-so... You trust me?Guard: If the Emperor did, I suppose we must do the same. My name is Baurus, by the way.Amy: Oh... n-nice to meet you, 8aurus.Baurus: Cute. But the Amulet - he must have given it to you for a reason. Did he say why?Amy: Jauffre. H-he said I needed to take it to Jauffre.Baurus: Jauffre? He said that? Why?Amy: Something a8out... his last son, or something.Baurus: Another heir...? Nothing I ever heard about. But Jauffre would be the one to know. He's the Grandmaster of my Order. Although you may not think so to meet him. He lives quietly as a monk at Weynon Priory, near the city of Chorrol.Amy: Okay, 8ut how am I supposed to get out of here?Baurus: Through that... "door" the assassin opened up must be the entrance to the sewers. That's where we were heading. It's a secret way out of the Imperial City. Or it was supposed to be secret. Here. You'll need this key for the last door into the sewers. He hands me a key, as he said. Amy: Sewers...?Baurus: There are rats and goblins down there... but from what I've seen of you, I'm guessing you are an experienced Barbarian. Am I right?Amy: Something like that, I guess...Baurus: In any case, rats and goblins won't give you any trouble.Amy: You think so?Baurus: You handle yourself better than any Blade.Amy: ...Thank you. 8ut after the sewers, then what?Baurus: You must get the Amulet to Jauffre. Take no chances, but proceed to Weynon Priory immediately. Got it?Amy: Yes, sir!Baurus: Good. The Emperor's trust was well-placed.Amy: Thank you... 8ut what a8out you, 8aurus? What will you do?Baurus: I'll stay here to guard the Emperor's body, and make sure no one follows you. You'd better get moving. May Talos guide you.I proceed through the newly-opened passageway, and sure enough find a grate to the sewers. I take a deep breath, and head on in...

As soon as I drop into the sewer, I'm hit with a... well, a sewer-y smell. I don't even want to think a8out what's in that water. I deal with the rat and cross the 8ridge to the other side. There's some go8lins here too, 8ut they don't give me too much trouble.

I see a faint light off in the distance. ...This place is way prettier than I expected. I see some ruins across the lake, 8ut I don't feel like getting wet right now, so I start climbing the hills 8ehind me, which the sewer exit was 8uilt into the side of.

???: Greetings, visitor from another world.I look around, trying to find a source for the mysterious voice. ???: Do not waste your time. We are speaking only to you.Amy: Um... Who are you????: Our identity is not important. We have brought you to this world for a reason.Amy: What reason????: That is for you to discern. For now, we will simply tell you the service we provide: should you tire of this place, simply come to one of our shrines. Stand in the center, and you will be allowed to leave this world.Amy: And go to another 8u88le????: Yes. For the time being, however, go to the Merchants Inn. There, you will meet another who will be crucial to your quest.Amy: Who?The voice doesn't respond, and I notice the priestess at the entrance is looking at me strangely. I go over and talk to her. Amy: Excuse me, ma'am, 8ut do you know where to find the Merchants Inn?Priestess: Sure. Head outside, then circle around to the back of the building and head through the door there. That'll get you to the Imperial Palace. Head around the Palace to the doorway across from here and you'll be in the Market District. It'll be pretty easy to find once you're there.Amy: Okay then. Thank you!I exit the temple, and the rain seems to have already cleared up. I follow her directions, and it's not long 8efore I find the Merchants Inn.

It's a nice, cozy little tavern. The 8arkeep nods at me as I enter. The 8ar is empty, except for a woman in the 8ack wearing armor and wielding a sword, which she's taking practice swings with. I wonder if this is who I'm supposed to meet here? Amy: Um... hi.???: I see you're a warrior as well?I look down at my clothes, and realize I'm still wearing the armor I took off that guard. Amy: Uh... I guess.???: And what name do you go by, brave warrior?Amy: My name's Amy.???: And I am Mimi, defender of the innocent!

I glance at the 8arkeep, and notice him rolling his eyes. Still, he's pro8a8ly not the one I'm supposed to meet here, so I decide to keep talking to Mimi. Amy: So, uh... what do you do when you aren't... practicing?Mimi: Ha! I hardly do anything except practice, unless I'm helping another citizen! How else am I to become one of this city's brave guards?Amy: You want to become a guard?Mimi: It's always been a dream of mine, ever since I was a girl. Of course, the captain says he won't allow a woman in his ranks... which is why I'm going to prove myself better than any of them.Amy: I see. You're... awfully forward a8out your dreams, aren't you?Mimi: I feel that sharing them with the world helps me achieve them. Do you have any dreams, Amy?I pause for a moment, thinking. Amy: ...Right now, I just want to get to Chorrol.Mimi: Chorrol, you say? Think you can handle it alone?Amy: Probably. ...8ut that doesn't mean I couldn't use some company. She grins. It's pretty o8vious she was waiting for me to say something like that. Amy: So, uh... do you know the way to Chorrol? I'm kind of... new.Mimi: Of course! I shall take the lead. She leads me to the right exit out of the city, and we set off. I can't help but feel a bit... excited for the journey ahead, even though I know I should 8e focusing on finding a way 8ack home. This place seems so exciting and fresh. I notice Mimi up ahead, motioning for me to follow, and I snap 8ack to reality.

Almost immediately after leaving, our paths crossed with a farmer. He seemed pretty upset about something, so I gave him a smile and a nod. Amy: Uh... what????: Who did I lose to? Who is my great enemy? Well, don't laugh... it's a bunch of damn fish.Amy: Um... that doesn't sound that silly to me, actually. Is there anything I can do to help????: Go on and lau... Wait. Help? Oh. Well then... name's Aelwin. Aelwin Merowald.Amy: Nice to meet you, Aelwin. I'm Amy.Aelwin: Well met, Amy. You see, I'm a fisherman. Or at least, I was. Until one of those slaughterfish damn near took my leg off.Amy: Slaughterfish?Mimi: They're a nasty breed of flesh-eating fish. A lot of trouble, if you aren't careful.Aelwin raised an eyebrow, and Mimi turned to him. Mimi: Sorry. She's only recently arrived in Cyrodiil.Aelwin: I see.Amy: So why'd they attack you?Aelwin: I was collecting their scales, see. I had a contract with this young alchemist. You wouldn't believe what he was paying for those scales!Amy: I see...Aelwin: The alchemist was paying so much for the scales that I'm close to having enough saved so that I can retire. But now, I can't get out there to the lake - not with this leg. I only needed twelve more scales! Can you believe it? I was so close!Mimi: Amy, I understand that this man needs help, but don't you need to get to Chorrol?Amy: Yeah, and I'm on a bit of a schedule too...Aelwin: I've picked up a few things in my travels. If you head out there and bring me back the twelve scales that I need, I can make it worth your time.Mimi: This might take a while, Amy...Amy: Hmm... How soon did the alchemist say he needed them?Aelwin: Within the month. Incredible how loose the schedule is...Amy: How a8out... I have more pressing concerns right now, 8ut I promise I will get those scales for you as soon as I can.Aelwin: Yes, I suppose that will work. Good luck on your travels!

She drew her sword, and I instinctively did the same. Mimi: We can't just leave them here to cause trouble! If we don't deal with them now, they'll just pack up and move someplace else!Amy: I suppose, 8ut... Hey, wait! Before I could say anything, she'd already run off into the ruins. I chased after her, not wanting to waste time but also not wanting her to get hurt. Amy: MIMI! Where are you?!Mimi: Amy! I'm over here!Amy: Mimi, what the hell are you doing?!Mimi: There's more of them up ahead, come on!
