The Charcherry Weekly
Hello everyone, Mage of Light Nick Card here. Got a bit side-tracked with drawing panels tonight, but rest assured, the newsletter is here.
At the beginning of the week, there was a scheduled town hall meeting, which appears to have went well. The villagers present at the meeting were Page of Rage Jovin Castle, Page of Mind Samm, Prince of Time Aeons Edgeworth, and Galar Champion Brae Emit.
The room had to be cleaned, but fortunately Jovin was able to nicely ask the psyduck that were present to clean up their mess. To everyone's surprise, they cleaned the meeting room spotless in minutes flat. Upon beginning the meeting in earnest, Aeons presented their ideas and took some input from the others.
A few days later, Aeons posted a link to the new and improved electronic ballot on the memo. The link is not published here for obvious reasons. You will need to show up to the memo and check the pins yourself if you need to vote.
The candidates for the role of Unity Village mayor are Samm, Jovin Castle, and Brae Emit.
The candidates for the new Mayor's assistant role are Samm, Jovin, and Aeons Edgeworth.
There is also a third section, which has a selection of two different auxiliary roles for Jovin, in case he does not win Mayor or Mayor's assistant. One of them is Psyduck manager, and the other is Wild Pokemon Relations, previously known as "the Pokeguard" role.
Brae's strategy appears to be as steadfast as before, largely depending on the flyers around town. Samm has been handing out t-shirts for both possible roles. Jovin has largely been recovering from somewhat recent incident.
Aeons has been focusing their energy on other things, putting up a help wanted ad at the charcherry post office for someone to take over at the desk of their snack stand, as well as someone else to become an assistant at the pokemon center, since Nurse Eden and their chansey have to alternate shifts around the clock to keep the place going. Granted, there aren't too many times where they have to take action, since pokemon battles are less common in this first year of pokemon on starter, but they do deserve some time away from the front desk for their tireless services to the community.
Reportedly, Aeons and their pachirisu had returned to Slowpoke island and have found that it has flourished in the months since the introduction of the bug pokemon. Not only is there a healthy ecosystem, but the slowpoke have also returned there! Aeons has told me to tell y'all that Slowpoke Island should be treated with upmost care, to make sure that it continues to thrive for years to come.
It was after that that I decided to record an interview between us, since it would be pretty messy for Aeons to interview themself as a version that likely knows how the election will turn out in the future. It is presented in dialoglog format for your reading pleasure.
This week's known market stands in Desertia Town:

Nick: This is Nick Card, newsletter writer with the charcherry weekly, interviewing Aeons Edgeworth, who plans on running for Mayor's Assistant in the extended Unity Village election currently being held.
Now, why do you want to be the assistant?
Aeons: Why do I wanna be assistant? I care a lot about this village. I literally cut the red tape for its grand opening. I called up the builders to build the houses and buildings. I think its safe to say that I'm pretty much the founder of this village.
Aeons: But like, I'm not one for sweeping decisions. I prefer to just get things done. I don't have time for photo ops and publicity stunts. If something needs to be done, I want to be able to follow through on the execution of things. The logistics and the like.
Nick: It seems you feel pretty strongly about this role.
Aeons: Well yeah. It takes more than a shot-caller to run a village. somebody's gotta do the shooting too, so to speak.
Nick: Couldn't have said it better myself
Aeons: Haha, very funny.
Nick: So, how do you plan on getting folks to vote for you?
Aeons: My name is on the ballot, and in the paper. My background is well known. I think the village can decide if I'm what they want.
Nick: That makes sense. Don't exactly need to do much when you're already there.
I do wonder though, considering you are conspicuously not running for mayor proper, do you have any endorsements for that role?
Aeons: I'd rather not make the competition unfair by endorsing anyone in particular. Folks know who they want to vote for and the horse will fall down the plinko board as it will.
Nick: Uh, okay then. Do you have anything else to day?
Aeons: ...Cheese biscuit.
Nick: I mean like, something relevant.
Aeons: Come on, cheese biscuits aren't relevant?
Nick: We aren't at red lobster. There isn't even a red lobster restaurant within a thousand mile radius.
Aeons: I know the captchalogue code for cheddar bay biscuits though. The code is--
Nick: ---Oh, would you look at the time, its almost 2am! We should really be wrapping this up now.
Nick: Anyhow, remember to vote! Democracy only works when folks participate in it!
