The Charcherry Weekly
Hello everyone, Mage of Light Nick Card filling in for Aeons Edgeworth, who was filling in for me for a while. Things happened this week.
Destiny of the Demiurge Denizen
Earlier this week, Heirs of Time Thoren Emit and Rise Emit gathered a party to assist them in combat against their denizen, the god of all monsters Yaldobaoth. Joining them was Rogue of Heart Charles, Netnavi Enker.exe, Netnavi Splashwoman.exe, Brae Emit, Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo, Heir of Breath June Egbert, and Prince of Time Aeons Edgeworth. During the battle, Rise summoned the spirit of Nil Emit, who promptly absconded due to past final boss battle trauma. As a result, the spirit of Heir of Hope Sponge Careon showed up shortly after to assist in their place. Apparently the battle had two phases, one against the traditional giant worm serpent form of the denizen (with the glowy bright face), and the probably biblically accurate cannot grasp the true form-er, form. Despite this, the party was able to deliver their best against the denizen, finishing up with a climactic finale involving Rise summoning all of The Fallen at once, and a variety of other ridiculous finishers.
After that, Rise and June took the corpse of the denizen to the land of Spells and Echoes, went back in time to The Beginning, and dropped it off there where the core of the land would be generated, which apparently somehow was the thing needed to make the SBARGv2 session even become viable enough to exist properly despite being largely very crappy code pasted onto other code together?
That being said, Apparently June had to use her retcon powers to take them there, since Rise's time powers weren't working so well. So I guess that's just sorta apart of the Lore now.
After the two of them did their duty, they regrouped with the party and Rise used the last of their time power juice to complete the timeloop that prompted Thoren to send them on this mission in the first place, and promptly fell asleep. Rise has not woken up since, and neither has Aeons or Thoren after they went their own ways. The others seem fine however.
It appears that the reason Thoren chose that day was because they had been dealing with the effects of the mysterious ailment that the other time players have been dealing with as well, and there was a concern about the prescribed time limit, and its assumed reason. But it turns out that the time players that fought the denizen are not the only ones afflicted by it. Desertian President Katyleen Kitten has also been fighting against the mysterious effects, with an attempt by Rogue of Heart Charles to mitigate the effects. This didn't work out so well. Details are forthcoming, and there are plans for rehabilitation in an undisclosed location outside of the local timestream.
Bugging out in the woods!
The other day, New Charcherry was nearly overran by furiously swarming bug pokemon! This attracted a great deal of zubat and golbat seeking to feed off of them, though this was mitigated by a skillful weather change to hail by Brae Emit's alolan ninetails, Holo. Your dear newsletter writer Mage of Light Nick Card directed their slowpoke, Slope, to try and fight off some of the bugs, but the volume was extremely high. Meanwhile, Heir of Breath June Egbert and Bounty hunter Samus Kitten took to the trail up Mt. Phoenix and encountered a being I can only describe as "The Beekeeper". Meanwhile, Warlock of Time Coleman ascended up further and discovered a bug catching operation with a device broadcasting a swarming signal to the bug pokemon, and a variety of locals who were recruited to Bug 'em inc to become bug type trainers/bug catchers. Rogue of Heart Pokeduelist Charles joined Coleman in attacking the broadcasting device, while former league champion HAZEL assisted against the beekeeper.
When they all went up there, me and Slope stayed in town, and I wound up using my light powers to pull off a pretty powerful solar beam against many of the bugs. Apparently an Absol also assisted in protecting the Cherry Pit inn from insect invaders, though considering type matchups, I can't imagine the absol lasted very long on that front.
A great deal of bugs also wound up entering the hangar, and have been spotted in various locations reachable via the transportalizer pad located there. This is somewhat troubling, especially considering that one pad leads to space, another leads to a Land that had been drifting sunless for unknown time, two lead to separate islands, and one of course leads to the ever-useful Warp Zone room, located deep under Fort Aspara on Planet Korous. Have I also mentioned that we keep most of our off-world transportalizer pad links there? and most places we've been to do not have a local pokemon population? Somebody really needs to seek out the straggler bugs, catch them, and take them back to starter planet, before something else winds up happening.
Anyways, back to the situation on the mountain, Coleman and Charles managed to disable the signal, and Coleman gave the bug trainers a good scolding as the most prevalent pokemon authority on the magicnet. Samus wound up pummeling the beekeeper out of pure 100% doneness, and even summoned a light blade to dispose of the fearsome creature that was barely contained by the beekeeper's suit. June had to carry her back home afterwards, but not before we all returned to charcherry square to meet up with a variety of particularly strong bug pokemon, searching for worthy trainers. June wound up convincing the butterfree to join her side, leaving five others to seek a trainer. If you think you are willing to try and train a bug pokemon companion and have measurable ambitions, it is suggested to seek them out.
With that, I think that does it for this week, and this year for this matter. 2021 moved by way too fast for me, though maybe the others that got to experience the months I missed would say the same, I'm not sure. At least I managed to get an egg to work on hatching, as well as a neat knitted beret. I think I might try to focus on bug clean-up for a bit, as well as watching over the house while Aeons is recovering. As far as I can tell, this place needs me right now so its probably not a good time to resume my pokemon journey, even if I am basically raring to go after getting my trainer's card recently.
Here's to a good 2022!
