The Charcherry weekly
Heya peeps, Aeons Edgeworth here. Nothing quite like good food and good friends to share it with.
The Warlock's Studies
Warlock of Time Coleman has been continuing with his pokemon photography lately, and has managed to photograph an aerodactyl somehow! I have no idea how that one wound up showing up, considering that its considered an ancient/virtually extinct pokemon. He has expressed interest in pursuing it further, though had wanted to catch a good first pokemon first. At some point later in the week, he did manage to catch a growlithe, which he named Fenris (who is a very cute puppy). In addition to his fieldwork, Coleman has also published a pair of brochures in an attempt to educate the general public about pokemon companionship and how to tell when a pokemon is willing to join your party. The brochures proved to be quite popular, and may need to be reprinted soon. Reportedly, a businessbeaver was spotted placing catalogues for custom pokeballs nearby. It is unknown what effect this will have later down the line. Some folks in our local group have joked about Coleman being on his way to becoming a pokemon professor. Whether or not this happens, I'd gladly collab with Coleman on later pokemon research, when I get the chance to get back into pokemon researching, of course.
Regardless of whether that pans out or not, with Coleman's efforts, I have a bit of hope for the trajectory of things in New Charcherry.
Its Tough Being a Prince
As for what I've been doing lately? A lot, that's for sure! I've largely been busy with planning stuff for the new village. Plans for building layout, additional landscaping, facilities, and various other decisions. One thing I reached out to the group about however was the name of the village. I had a handful of options, but couldn't quite pick a direction. Out of all of them though, Unity Village wound up being the winner in the polls. There's a chance it might be modified a bit, but a general direction has been chosen.
At another point this week, I attempted to plant a great deal of berries on the still-vacant Slowpoke Island. However, half of the planted berries were dug up and eaten by a flock of wingull. I may have chased them off and battled the remaining ones with Pachirisu and Colby in my frustration. Like, these berries haven't even gotten a chance to grow yet! I haven't even had the juice to do timey stuff to them lately! Go snipe for doritoes on a different distant island or something for a while! Thankfully the greenhouse expansion should be ready very soon, so I can focus on growing berries in a controlled environment.
From Both Sides of the Coronet
Heir of Time Rise Emit has reported receiving a message in a dream from legendary Pokemon Dialga, apparently inviting them to go on a pokemon journey in the Sinnoh region. By some means, Rise managed to find a way to get there in a temporary but consistent fashion. So far, they have earned their first gym badge, evolved their starter pokemon, Dewdrop, into a prinplup, and by some miracle, recruited Mew to their party. Thankfully, when Mew met Mewtwo at the harvest feast this week, they seemed to get along relatively well, though there is a clear difference in demeanor between them. At very least, it is not going to be a situation like the one that may have ended up happening in another timeline.
In tangential news, Rise has been seen wearing dawn's outfit, though apparently doesn't like having to deal with the shortness of the skirt.
Meanwhile, Ex Galactic Leader Cyrus has been discharged from the hospital. He had spent a few days just sorta wandering and hanging around Desertia, largely spending time with his pokemon and seeing what this fair town has to offer. At some point however, he had apparently requested a meeting with Desertian President Katyleen Kitten. This was fulfilled the next day, and apparently she spilled so many beans at him that he couldn't even pick them up anymore. It is largely assumed that any chance of him making plans that wound endanger any of our worlds has slimmed down to the point of being a non-issue. Somehow, he wound up showing up to the Harvest Feast and thankfully didn't cause any trouble whatsoever (though he did laugh at Charles's thing about being thankful for "the constant explosions that keep our planets warm"), and even wound up being welcome to stay on Autumnal for as long as he needs. Now, as somebody who played pearl when it came out in 2006, I'm kinda wary about Cyrus in general, but like, I'm also kinda hopeful about him getting a second chance, especially considering how badly he broke down recently. Further developments to be written.
The Candles...
Page of Rage Jovin Castle has been doing a fair bit of rock climbing on the sheer side of Mt. Phoenix lately. At some point this week, he wound up reaching the summit, where Raine and Thoren's house is located. Sensing something there, he went to investigate inside. It was a good thing that he did, because apparently there were 20 litwick in the master bedroom, all feeding off of Lord of Rage Raine Emit's life energy! Jovin and his machop Hercules attempted to fight all 10 of the litwick, but only managed to defeat a couple before they were beat up, burnt, and hexed by the sinister candles. Eventually however, Rise Emit arrive on scene with three pokemon, Dewdrop the piplup, Shocker the shinx, and Shadow the torracat. Working together, they managed to defeat the pack of litwick. Rise handed Jovin and Hercules some spray-on potions for their wounds, and they took Raine to the hospital to recover. It is unknown when she will awaken from her coma, and Thoren's scheduled arrival is coming up quite soon. It is assumed that the house atop Mt. Phoenix will need to be ghostbusted further on a later date, as a Chandelure was detected in one of the larger rooms.
A Feast Among Friends!
On thursday, like last year, a harvest feast was held on Autumnal. This year however was apparently much larger than the last, as our group has grown a lot since then. And this isn't even accounting for everyone's pokemon! There was a great variety of food and drink for everyone, and trying to list everyone off would probably give me a migraine. It was really nice though. I think we should try to find more occasions to get together like this in times of peace. The pokemon got a chance to spend time with eachother as well. The next day, pretty much anyone remaining there was sent off with leftovers. It was a good time.
That should do it for now. Who knows what the future holds...
Oh, and as a reminder, in case anyone hasn't seen this recent correction, it has come to my attention that Brae did not actually become Galar Champion as previously thought. This flub has been edited and noted in past issues that this title had appeared in for her.
