The Charcherry Weekly
Hello! Aeons Edgeworth here! Things feel like they're moving forward around here! Let's goooo!
Growing Pains
Lately, there have been reports of locals and travelers in New Charcherry treating the pokemon in the area not very well, an apparent pokemania having surfaced. Page of Mind Samm has managed to mentally contact an absol that's been guarding some of the younger pokemon that aren't ready to face trainers yet. Apparently, Absol wants folks to calm the heck down around here.
Also, I thought I told y'all to treat pokemon with respect! It was one of the first things I mentioned in the seminar! Pokemon are living creatures with feelings and needs! You can't just treat them like toys or something! Samm sent out a mind ball with a semi-threatening message to try and dissuade those within the charcherry area from continuing in their disregard for pokemon welfare.
Reports are inconclusive on the effectiveness of this message, but I hope it had some sort of effect, because I will kick somebody's ass if they mistreat pokemon, and nobody wants to piss off a prince of time, or an awakened Page of Mind, for that matter.
In other news however, I have been working on planning some measures that would improve outcomes in such places. One of them involves various berry planting efforts. While right now, the frenzy has made it so that planting in public places would be unproductive, there are undisclosed locations that they are being planted. In addition to this, there are officially now plans to start a new village at end-road bridge, which will be focused on promoting harmony and understanding between people and pokemon.
Please inquire if you are interested in moving to such a place, as plans are being drafted out as of time of writing.
Confirmed buildings to be there include a pokemon research center, a ranch for our group's locally "boxed" pokemon, a pokemart, a local bar/grill, a pokemon center (though it will take at most until december to get the healing machine for it, but the place will likely still be under construction at that point anyways), a handful of houses, a community center building, a regular-ass library, and a new copy of my old cabin, which was previously lost to the sands of time (and spiders). This will likely take a while to be realized, at least a few months or so.
The Timespace Bullshit Never Ends
Somewhat recently, an enigmatic individual from the SBARGv1 session has surfaced, often seen wearing a strange suit and drinking at the bar. Her name has yet to be shared publicly (aside from being referred to as "Jerry" by Brae, but I think that's mostly just to get on her nerves.), but her chumhandle is problemBeholder. She recently picked a fight with Heir of Time Rise Emit, mistaking them for the long-since defeated timespace virus that once terrorized our groups.
Rise's sister, Brae Emit, showed up and kicked her ass. PB's suit of armor was heavily damaged during the altercation but she herself managed to escape from the suit with minimal injury. After the strife, the three of them made amends (to a degree), with an understanding that Chronos was no more in this time, and that his children certainly would not follow his lead. It was at this point that Rise invited PB to their annual trip to the Isle of Chronos for the sake of closure and reflection. PB accepted the offer
On the 17th, the three of them took the trip to the isle of chronos via magic doorway, waiting until the end of the day to make the journey. Reportedly, Rise made a long-winded speech, followed by a much shorter set of pointed sentiments from PB. Brae had said her piece last year, and was there this year largely for moral support. However, a disturbance in the timespace fabric was detected, which I can only imagine was quite an alarm to them, considering the circumstances.
It turned out, that Cyrus, the boss of team galactic, was deposited there. He was found in an exhausted state, but was able to speak enough to show disappointment over his destination and walk the truncated distance to the hospital in Desertia town. Have I mentioned that the hospital is back in full swing again? Because it is.
Apparently, Cyrus also has a crobat which he nicknamed Chronos, which might make things kinda confusing around here. That crobat does make me wonder though, considering I know first-hand what it takes to evolve a golbat to that form. You gotta really care about your pokemon to be able to do that. Charles floated the possibility that there may be a chance of false friendship, but I don't think that the friendship energy required for evolution can be faked. Cyrus has yet to be discharged from the hospital, still being in an exhausted state.
I checked Rise and Thoren's shared twitter account earlier tonight and apparently Rise seems to be interested in investigating some details about Cyrus, possibly involving the Sinnoh region. I wonder if Rise still has that laminated odd flower they used to use to get to the void place. Not to mention, I wonder if it even works anymore. Like, I could probably hand Rise another odd flower to use, since I still water and care for a couple bushes of them, if they needed a new one. Although, it seems really odd that this is happening so close to the release date of the remakes of diamond and pearl.
Details on these developments are still forthcoming.
Dungeon Raid on Shellderspire Isle!
On Thursday, the dungeon crashers disembarked for Shellderspire isle, to make their way through the voidco dungeon located there.
The party included Page of Rage Jovin Castle, his machop Hercules, Page of Mind Samm, with her Munna, Witch of Time Crowchaser, with her golett Clayton (apparently the Katies of PowerCity take turns caring for and training the pokemon that are within access of the remote soulbot that they can now use again), Bounty hunter Samus, Brae Emit, and her slowbro Pokey, as well as her clefable Stella, Rogue of Heart Charles, Heir of Time Rise Emit, and their torracat Shadow, and their gold dragon companion Goldie.
Looking over the soulbot recorded footage, it seems it was a bit of a hectic adventure with such a large group, with a number of charles-related shenanigans, some of them helpful, and some of them harmful. Brae wound up challenging a monster there to a pokemon battle, sending Pokey to fight their drifloon Bloonie. Pokey won and Brae was given the key to a door in the dungeon (as well as 20 friendcoins, thanks to the amulet coin on hand). The party spent a large amount of time fighting underwater against underleveled sharpedoes who all knew freaking HYPER BEAM for some godforsaken reason. One was knocked out, another received a large gash, which had to be healed 2 years in the future at a pokemon center that has yet to be built in New Charcherry. That sharpedo is now under the care of Delta, Barcrawler, and the other katies of PowerCity. The third one just sorta stayed out of the fray after that. At some point, Samm wound up getting hit point-blank by a hyper beam and was knocked unconscious. She had to be healed with the healing shiv, which kinda freaked some of the party members out, since it looked like a fatal stab when it was an anti-fatal stab thanks to the reverse damage.
After opening the door, the party was launched through a tube by sheer water pressure, eventually deposited to a room. They eventually realized they could figure out how to set up telepathy-based-communication among the group for underwater use, thanks to Samm's mind-y stuff, boosted by the PowerCity network. Oh yeah, did I mention that Jovin managed to be followed by a magikarp all the way down there? It just kept flopping and flopping.
Anyways, they all went down a staircase, which soon had water going down it, which wound up only making Jovin fall down from it somehow. He was thankfully not harmed too much from that. after that, the group entered the boss room and found... a galarian slowking! They started attacking the party, using fairly standard moves for a level 30 slowking, as well as abilities from four different colored type essence crystals. It was quite the battle, with much of the fighting delegated to the pokemon for ethical reasons. At some point, the magikarp smacked into the slowking and after being insulted at least twice, the magikarp evolved into a gyrados! However, the yellow crystal shocked the gyrados (which is like, super-duper effective, due to flying/water dual typing!!) and was knocked out by a single headbutt after that. There were a lot of times that Surf was used and much of the group either had to jump over, fly over, or Samm used a shield to block it. At some point, Charles alchemized some de-evolution spray, but it proved to be difficult to deliver thanks to being slippery. At some point, Brae fed gyrados a vinyl record that apparently taught it thunderbolt, as well as feeding it some poffins (with a little kiss <3). This managed to revive it long enough to resume attacking. Focus was placed on eliminating the crystals, which was tougher than expected, but managed to get done after a while.
Eventually, Samm got her munna to use hypnosis on slowking, and Charles was able to finally administer the de-evolution spray. This allowed the shell to pop off easily, reverting them to a separate slowpoke and shellder. Samm captchalogued the shellder for later questioning, later capturing it with a pokeball formally. The slowpoke was reunited with their other slowpoke friends, oblivious to the boss battle that had occurred. The dungeon core was yeeted into deep space, to be studied at a later date. Five treasure chests were found, two of which were claimed, the three others still on refuge island. At some point, a hole was blown into the wall of the core chamber, flooding the bottom half of the dungeon.
The party and the slowpoke, with the king's rock in tow, escaped via mushroom circle to refuge island.
It was at this point that I met up with the group with Dee-dee, who was anxious to meet up with the others. After Rise called in Mewtwo to do translation work, it was revealed that the prince wasn't actually any of the slowpokes that were in the dungeon. It was Dee-dee who was the crowned prince. They had apparently escaped and placed the king's rock onto another slowpoke's head, and wound up being the one to alert our group to the plight of the slowpokes. They didn't want to be prince for this reason, but the group still wanted them to lead them.
After an enactment of slowpoke democracy, Dee-dee was elected as their leader, and after a quick trading ritual between me and Crowchaser, was evolved into a slowking. At Dee-dee's request, I released them so that they could fulfill their duties. While I will miss them, I know I can always visit them later.
Also, Shellderspire isle is now designated as a pokemon sanctuary, no longer a danger to visit. The gyrados, now named Mr. Fish, has agreed to be trained by Jovin.
Man, a lot happened this week, and this doesn't even cover my birthday, or Coleman's pokemon photography. I tried to post some of his photos, but it seems they just don't want to be displayed in vanilla earth internet locations. There's a lot that still needs to be done in the future, but we have plenty of time for that, probably.

Edit: it has come to my attention that Brae Emit has not become Galar champion like previously assumed. Apologies for the accidental misinformation.
