The Charcherry Weekly
Hello, Aeons Edgeworth here. This week a lot of stuff happened. Let's begin!
A Spirited Encounter!
On the last day of October, the skies filled with a mysterious mist, confirmed in Desertia town, the warp zone, many places across Starter Planet, and Planet Hepi. It is largely assumed that this allowed ghosts to walk among the living that day, with the sun(s) blotted out by the mist.
It was this day that I finally completed that final interview, having spotted a member of The Fallen, dubbed Starfall, that had been restlessly wandering around town. Respecting their desire for privacy and quiet space, I conducted the interview in the courthouse's legal library. In return, I retrieved their body for them, to be buried relatively soon (I didn't expect Lightyears Edgeworth to show up exactly at the right time with the captcha card!), and contacted their sister, Brae Emit, to come and visit them.
After an intense interview, with all parts of the bargain attended to, I want straight to Gene's Garden to decompress. It was there that I reconvened with the ghost of someone that had been trapped in the Sea-Saw Resort for an entire year. That someone was Barcrawler, the version of Katie from the timeline where she spent tons of years just sitting alone at Gene's Garden long after everyone left that timeline's version of our first town (which eventually came to be known as Charcherry Village). Having memories of a version of myself from that timeline, in which I had taken off to planet jingloria to become the walkjangler, I really missed Barcrawler. Even if Ultimate Katie is still alive and kicking (its kinda hard for her not to be, having been tied up in so much paradox twine that any permanent judgement would be an instant game over for everyone), it still hurts to know about her alternates and any ill fates they may have suffered. Hugging it out (which feels pretty powerful when you're hugging a ghost, especially one that misses you just as much as you did for them), we eventually decided to go visit charcherry for a while, inviting Page of Mind Samm to join us.
We entered the town and checked around the place, soon going down a path. Barcrawler wound up meeting a Golett and catching it, naming them Clayton. Samm encountered a Munna that kept trying to run away. With some pecha preserves I had on hand, and Samm's mind powers able to link with Munna to communicate (though it was a private link so we couldn't tell what they were discussing), the cute little pink dream mist producing creature agreed to join Samm's party. Eventually we wandered back into town and ran into a figure identified as "Ruse", who apparently had something to do with Barcrawler's fate. I can't confirm this, as I wasn't there at the resort last year. But anyways, Ruse, the doppelganger rise ripoff, challenged Barcrawler to a pokemon battle, using a haunter that seemed to be an expert at flipping the bird and getting shadow punched often. Upon being defeated, Ruse threw an empty wallet at Barcrawler and mentioned something about more voidco dungeons now on starter planet. This claim has yet to be confirmed, but it is very likely.
Apparently, Brae Emit had a sweet reunion with Starfall, who gave her the captchalogue card with their dead body in it, to be buried somewhere. She later planted marigolds in the cemetery, and baked a great deal of cookies to deliver to The Fallen in the underworld. It is currently unknown if she has made that delivery yet, but it has been confirmed that Starfall returned to the underworld after their unfinished business was completed filled with kindness and peace.
On planet Hepi, there were a number of reports of various ghost sightings, and one managed to possess a robot that had memo access to tell us of the foul misdeeds of Xen, who had murdered them after they had dared to defy them.
The next day, the mist subsided as soon as it had emerged before, no dungeon crashing necessary to dispel it.
However, we will likely need to get back into the groove of things soon, if Ruse's words are accurate.
Enter the City of Power
On November 3rd, it was Desertian President Witch of Time Katyleen Kitten's birthday. Her age is currently unknown, as time player ages are notoriously hard to track.
The next day, she invited everyone to PowerCity, the city within her soul. This was accomplished with a heart aspect portal, maintained by the scientists, a group of charles/katies of various ratios, largely a product of Chronos's bullshit in a few doomed timelines. But before I get to that, I have to mention this bit:
A few days before, me, Samm, and Golby Jack the golbat went to the region of memory and shifting tiles to fight underlings for grist, to spend on a remote soulbot that Barcrawler could use. Unfortunately, because me and Samm had both collected grist separately and a single share was not enough to pay for the soulbot in full, one of us would have to gristtorrent from the other to get the full funds needed to alchemize the device. However, Samm had taken an actual nap for once and was out like a light for a while, which continued into the first half of the celebration. Meanwhile, Golby had disappeared that day, the previous day displaying frustration. I wound up going to PowerCity without Golby, Samm, or the remote soulbot.
Upon showing up theer, I arrived in an exhibition hall, filled with all sorts of works from various Katie offshoots. I was greeted by a very charles-leaning scientist, who didn't have anywhere in particular for me to go. However, Crowchaser, Barcrawler's parallel timeline counterpart, showed up to greet me. She took me to the bus, which took us to Gene's Garden, or at least, the version that Barcrawler claimed as their new home when they returned to PowerCity days ago. Upon arriving, I was offered food and drink, pizza with pineapple with a side of grape faygo. I'm glad she remembered what I like. Me, Barcrawler, and Crowchaser just sortakinda hung out for a while, talking about friendship and how dreadfully lonely I was and all that.
Eventually, an anonymous denizen entered the memo and informed everyone that they had located Golby, and they were on a concerning rampage in the region of memory and shifting tiles. I took my leave after that, worrying about poor Golby.
Eventually I arrived there and Golby was mad at me. It turned out, they were pissed off that I was giving Samm more attention when we fought there together a few days ago, taking the fact that I attended to Samm first when both of them got knocked down. I apologized and pledged to be a better trainer and friend to Golby. We hugged and Golby wound up evolving! They evolved into a crobat! since their name was kinda linked to them being a golbat, I decided to rename them Colby Jack instead.
Since Colby had slaughtered tons of underlings there, we picked up all the grist and took off for the closest alchemeter. Samm wound up waking up from her sleep soon after, and gave me permission to gristtorrent some of her grist for the remote soulbot. It didn't require too much from her, and soon the soulbot was up and running! Crowchaser immediately connected to it, and walked off into Desertia town.
I'm not sure where she went after that.
Apparently Delta also returned to PowerCity shortly after that.
Bounty hunter Samus Kitten, Heir of Time Rise and Brae Emit, as well as Page of Rage Jovin Castle and his machop, had also visited PowerCity, though I didn't meet up with them all that much. Later on even Samm showed up apparently.
It was quite the day for everyone it seemed. A day with a lesson or two about friendship, that's for sure.
Its Twin Time
The next day, Brae and Rise held their birthday party, having been created in a lab and launched to earth via meteors 23 years ago, though previous travel in the furthest ring and miscellaneous timeloops may have bumped them both up a year. Its hard to tell, I'll have to ask later.
Anyhow, they had a nice dinner with friends and got a handful of nice presents, including some cute outfits, CD's, gloves, and hairclips. I knew I had to get them something good so I baked some cupcakes with berries in them for their pokemon, as well as some without berries so they could enjoy the cupcakes as well.
Rise immediately offered a red cupcake to Mewtwo and I was hella worried that they'd reject it, but they actually liked it!
I feel like a lot has happened since all those years ago when mewtwo first absconded from my home back in the medium while I was trying to cook something for them for the first time. I have a feeling I've been overreacting all this time, but at the same time, I get really worried about things sometimes.
Overall, things went pretty well, I think.
I think that should cover it for this week. I'm thinking of hosting a pokemon seminar in New Charcherry Town on monday if anyone's interested in seeing me demonstrate some things regarding ways to safely interact with pokemon. Now, I need some sleep!
