The Charcherry Weekly
Hello everyone, Prince of Time Garnett Garren here. I wanna sleep but the news waits for no one.
Enter the Ultradex
Early this week, Rogue of Heart Charles realized that Mage of Light Nick didn't have a pokedex for their pokemon journey, so he took it upon himself to alchemize one. But not just any pokedex, this one apparently has the ability to identify pokemon that don't even have an entry in the national pokedex database. Considering that the Pinto region likely has some pokemon that no official pokemon game would ever have, this is likely an important feature. The result was dubbed the UltraDex. Charles did do a poll to see if there were any better names, but pretty much everyone agreed ultradex was a good name for it, especially considering it has a ultra ball style markings on it.
According to Charles, the ultradex polls a wide variety of sources to obtain information on a detected pokemon, including energy signature readings, internet articles ranging from standard bulbapedia to obscure conspiracy pages, and a lot of other stuff.
Yesterday they were seen with Rise at the shooting range here in desertia, getting some data from Brae's pokemon in action.
Apparently today, Charles gave out a few extra ultradexes to build up a collective database for the sake of detection stability, I think. I hope Nick doesn't have to catch too many pokemon on their journey. I never really did like the fact that so many pokemon caught for pokedex purposes would wind up just sitting in boxes. Apparently there’s a chance that they could just sorta grab data off HAZEL’s pokedex or something if needed.
However, it might be a while until we can contact HAZEL again, because as luck would have it, her pokegear is not equipped to handle ragetext and apparently overheated when it showed up in the memo.
Its called the friendship network for a reason
A couple days ago, *Aperture showed up on the memo, wary of a vision he had, involving an admired acquaintance in fear, a standoff on a platform, and an appearance of the time witch. Apparently its been bothering him for a while. Medical AI Edwin had a talk with *Aperture in a Team Fortress 2 server and eventually convinced him to move in with him, so *Aperture wouldn't be quite as lonely. So far the arrangement seems to be going well, though its hard to tell this early.
I think that’s about everything for this week. I hope Nick is doing well over there.
