 Nick takes a moment to catch their breath. "Well I'm glad the note found its way back. You can let the others know I'll probably be alright. Probably."They turn to face HAZEL again. "That's another friend of mine. Her name is Brae. She's been doing a lot lately."Meanwhile, Slope just sorta stands there like a cinderblock, except she still blinks eventually.
Meanwhile elsewhere in town... A group of middle schoolers in black outfits can be seen walking together, each with a red lowercase r on the front. Some may think of their group as a joke, but they have Plans. The world will be their cloyster soon enough... |

"Nice to meet you Brae, I'm HAZEL. And this is CHIM." She says, gesturing at the Chimchar.
"Chimchar!!" The female Chimchar says, trying to climb onto Sprinkle.

Brae grins widely, hands on her hips. Epitome of overly-confident child. But there's a bit more experience to back up that confidence behind her eyes.
"Brae Emit! Galarian Gym Challenger, new to this region! The eevee is Sprinkle, and these," she points to the two pokeballs and the heal ball, "are Stella, Pokey, and Elly."
Sprinkle wiggle flops her ears and hops off of Slope, motioning for Chim to get on. Her tail twitches.

Meanwhile, CHIM clambers onto Sprinkle, standing on the Eevee triumphantly.

Nick watches the pokemon climbing and playing together. Its interesting how having a pokemon with you can make social situations ever so slightly easier to bear. Always assured that you have someone to turn to for whatever reason.
They fiddle with their laptop a bit more, working on drawing some panels with their attached drawing tablet.
"Well, I'm glad we're all acquainted now. I wonder what there is to do around here to burn through the rest of the day though."
Slope just sorta stands there, not particularly minding much.

Brae sits on the floor, her legs crossed as she watches the Pokemon play.
With CHIM on her back, Sprinkle jumps up onto Slope's head, standing proudly. Brae claps for the Pokemon. "You could, um... find a cute cafe and battle for sweets! Or do you need your license for any type of battling, not just gym battles...?"

Nick doesn't remember anything about contests or Super contests when they wrote about this place years ago, but then again, their writings were incredibly thin, and this place sure is huge enough compared to their expectations.
"huh, neat. Sounds like something worth checking out. I've never seen one of those contests in person before."
They casually omit the fact that they've only seen brief anime snippets.
"I'd rather play it safe and wait 'til after I get my license to do any battling in town. Its only one day to wait, after all."

"I can lend you two some Accessories and Seals. And yeah, probably safe to hold off on battling until you get your license. I think coordinating in a contest is okay though." She says, putting her Fashion and Seal Cases on the table in front of them.

Nick takes a look at the cases, just sorta leaning forward.
"huh, neat. I hope you aren't too disappointed but I'm not exactly feeling up to standing up in front of a crowd today. Spectating might be cool though."
Slope flops down, tired of standing.
Nick looks up at Brae.
"Are you interested in getting into contest stuff?"

Holding onto her legs, Brae rocks back and forth a bit. "Well... I still have stuff to do in Galar, and back in Gene. There's plans to do more in the Game Room in a few day." She stands up and dusts herself off, before digging around in her bag. She pulls out a couple paper bags, like lunch sacks.
"Poffins in this one. If you're going to do contests, these should be useful! The other one is, um. Galarian EXP candies! Not sure if they'll work the same, but there's an assortment of sizes from XS to XL. They should help give a little boost so Slope isn't too far ahead of the rest of any Pokemon that join you."

"huh, I guess you've got a lot on your plate. And a lot in your bag too!" Nick briefly wonders what poffins and exp candies taste like.
"I've only been here for a little over a day so I'm still sorta gathering my bearings. The candy will prolly come in handy though."

Brae seems to consider something a moment, before going back into her bag briefly. "There's one more thing I almost forgot." She pulls out from her bag what looks like a power brick. "It took me some time to find this before coming here. It should let you connect to the memo from here, whenever you're ready. You don't have to use it though! This is meant to be a vacation, after all." She smiles, then leans down to gently move CHIM off of Sprinkle, and the eevee jumps up onto Brae's shoulder.

Nick examines the brick. They know they'll likely end up having yet another meltdown if they return to the memo so soon.
"Thank you Brae. It'll probably be a while until I use it myself, but I appreciate everything you've offered."
They turn to face HAZEL. "Glad to hear. Say, do you use any chat programs? You could probably use this to talk to my friends if you want. They're a little out-there, but they're pretty cool most of the time."
