Hello everyone. Mage of Light Nick Card half asleep here. Maybe I spent too long in the vr pod yesterday.
One small step for Steve?
Yesterday on Thursday, Rogue of heart Charles (along with your dear newsletter writer Mage of Light Nick Card) successfully got a house into the medium in vr minecraft with the Minestuck mod. I acted as their server player and was somewhat clueless, as it was the first time I have ever acted as a server player, despite my real-life experience with SBARG. Thankfully, Charles had prepared absolutely everything for this moment, even marking the spots for the SBURB machines to go flawlessly. It turned out that being a server player basically acts as a version of creative mode where you can place hotbar’d blocks for a small fee of a minimal amount of grist.
Charles was unable to record the footage due to technical difficulties so I covered the recording duty. Here is a youtube link to the video I recorded and then later edited:

After entering the medium with his entry house (notably separate from the home base in the village in the overworld), he quickly got cornered by an emerald imp and died, causing him to respawn in the overworld, with no way to return back to the house. We decided to petition to Denizen Euphrosyne to send Charles back to their land. Charles wanted to perform a ritual to summon her while I just banged a skillet on random surfaces and yelled in chat. She eventually showed up regardless and Charles managed to get back to his land, the Land of Bunnies and Mycillium.
It is all but confirmed that Charles's Denizen in the game is Hemera and he has been assigned the Life aspect.
While playing, I managed to successfully build up a spiral staircase leading up to the second gate (seemingly the last gate that's present in the minestuck version of sburb) and also one down to the surface level. I also made a point of adding copious amounts of glass to prevent too many accidental falls. There are however designated jump-off points at gates 1 and 2 and at the front bridge, to accommodate for elytra flight. I am unsure of how Charles managed to get an elytra to duplicate with punchcard alchemy in the first place, but he managed to make enough to have plenty of spares. Thanks to his foresight, Charles managed to set up a teleportation system between his land and the home base in the overworld, which not only circumvented any further need to ask for administrative intervention in case of restrictive respawn location, but also allowed me to visit Charles's land in person.
I managed to accumulate a decent grip of grist from fighting underlings (it is absolutely maddening just how quickly build grist can get just from strifing!) and later did some research into the available weapons in the modpacks we have available.
Being a bit too used to using compactified alchemy setups, it took me a while to remember how to do longform punchcard alchemy without the luxury of visible captchalogue codes. The particularities of how it was implemented in the mod also proved to be vexing for a few minutes. By the end of the night, I had organized the carved cruxite dowels and punched cards, made a handful of weapons, and got a carved dowel for a transportalizer pad, which was too expensive to alchemize but will surely come in handy later.
After that, I took the teleporter back to the overworld and with a grip of cobblestone and Perfectly Generic Objects, I made my own entry house a distance away from the village. I will need to wait until a server player is available to assist me, so as to have a functional land chain.
With my duties complete as far as I could take them, I logged off for the night and went back home. I'm excited about what may come next but for now I need sleep.
As for anything else, it seems very little has been happening lately. Heir of Time Rise Emit is still recovering in the hospital and there has been minimal reported incidents as of late. It was a good week as far as I can tell!
