The Charcherry Weekly
Hello! Mage of Light Nick here! I think things are up and running again, to a degree. At least my mood is a little better this week.
Slap-dash Painting
Mai has been doing a great amount of abstract painting lately. Reportedly he (Mai updated his pronouns recently to he/him in addition to they/them.) had been drinking an energy drink, which presumably had an amplified effect due to his hepian physiology. Cube assistant AI *Kaz and Rogue of Heart Charles are trying to limit Mai's caffine intake after this particular incident, for the sake of his health.
I haven't checked recently, but apparently there are some paintings that were produced at this time, right outside of Mai's hotel room, which are free to take home.
A day later, Mai had been reported as being back to a baseline level of calmness.
Missing space found
Reportedly a warship of dersite design has crash-landed on desertia, outside of city limits.
Investigation has revealed that two individuals of note were inside, one being a Rogue of Space by the name of Morgan, and a robotic assistant by the name of "robo-Morgan". Apparently Morgan is a member of Heir of Void Jamie's player group.
Morgan had injured his leg during the crash, but this had been healed by Rogue of Heart Charles, who reportedly used a hyper potion spray on the injury. Morgan and his robotic counterpart have reunited with Jamie and seem to be on reasonable terms.
Charles took it upon himself to deal with the dersite ship's uranium reactor, and has ordered that the ship be kept away from for at least a week to minimize radiation exposure.
Further details on this story still forthcoming.
Zombie TV
Rogue of heart Charles has reported that the tv in Gene's Garden is broken, having apparently lost its "magic smoke" (I still think that the "magic smoke" explanation is far too cover-uppy for common use). Despite this, the television has regained its ability to function beyond all reason, even able to pick up not only standard cable but also input from standard game consoles.
It seems like a rather innocuous miracle with no currently known down-sides, though further investigation may be needed.
A Visit to Aviary city
Heir of Time Thoren Emit, Rogue of Heart Charles, and Secretary Samus Aran took a trip to planet Roostor this week, to visit Aviary City, a known site of an active voidco dungeon. Upon arriving there, they soon became wrapped up in the affairs of the local playergroup, who had taken it upon themselves to foster the growth and safety of the apparent last remaining city upon their homeworld.
Among their group is Heir of Blood Ace Starling, the apparent leader of their group. There is also Magnolia, a life player of unknown class, who had almost been tasked with using life powers in a futile attempt to combat the draining power of the voidco dungeon. They had ran away from their duties that day and had been chased down by Seer of Doom Orion, who is reportedly quite caring, if not a little forceful.
The last remaining player known of their group is Bard of Light Phoebe, who reportedly contacted voidco to save Aviary City in the first place.
It seems kinda odd to me that all of their problems seem to be so easily traceable to Phoebe's apparent title-related flaws. Like, isn't that a little too convenient, having such an easy scapegoat? I kinda wanna meet this Phoebe character, maybe to try and glean if she has any particular motives or goals in mind beyond her apparent misfortune.
Thoren, Samus, and Charles wound up assisting Orion in locating Magnolia and relayed enough information to prevent them from trying to send Magnolia on the ill-advised mission which they had ran away from in the first place. Our group's party got in contact with Ace, who subsequently joined our memo for further correspondence.
After sorting everything out, Charles took Thoren and Samus back to desertia via flame warp, to avoid having to use the apparently unshielded stargate in the abandoned subway station.
Apparently he doubled back to replace it with a better working one, and then proceeded to do a tour of the vast majority of his stargate network, ending when he apparently got knocked up by an unknown party while he was taking notes in a temple which has a great amount of gate codes written on the walls.
He eventually returned to desertia in a very tired and thirsty state, joining Thoren, Samus, and Witch of Time Katyleen Kitten at the lab's kitchen as they enjoyed spaghetti together.
And by the way, yes, I know about that bird you flipped, Charles.
As far as scheduling for dungeon entry, that has yet to be announced, as preparations are still being made.
The next day, Rogue of Heart Charles managed to get a good idea, wheeling the previously uncontested hoop of yellow forge crust to the desertian stargate. He deactivated the shield and activated the gate with the yellow wheel in front of it, and sure enough, the blast had made quick work of the exposed section of the hoop! I figure nobody gets the giga cookie prize in this case, but I don't really care much for oversized cookies anyways.
Charles has pondered weaponizing the blast from an unshielded stargate, particularly as a method of taking out a voidco dungeon core with minimal collateral damage. This has yet to be tested, but I sincerely hope that it works as well as it should. We could really use a non-explosive way to deactivate those cores...
Magic Festival?
Apparently there is a magic festival coming up on Venus's homeworld, from 9am to 7pm, on Tuesday, January 26th. There will reportedly be "magic demonstrations, charms, and more", as well as a late-night firework show. I really wish I could show up for something like that, but I know my sleep schedule and it probably won't let me attend an event on a day like that. Like, maybe I might be able to catch the firework display, but I doubt it. Regardless, I hope that those who do attend have a good time.
okay, that's enough for now. I need some sleep.
