The moon.
Stark and perpetual in its splendor. Many an onlooker has been inspired by its comforting presence in the night sky.
It is said that a temporic lives up there, and has been there for thousands of years. Considering how the moon itself has functioned as a time-piece in the long past, it's no surprise that legends surrounding it would feature one of the people of time.
None other than the child of 'Oren.
Tempus.
Tempus gazes out at the Earth far below.
Though separated by space, they are connected to it and its people through The Network. Through their combined power, they have stayed alive for over two thousand years and counting.
Despite this, there is only one who they desire the company of, and they have long since departed from this world.
Estelle.
They had been the one to put them on the path to self-improvement. The one who had believed in them the most. They were the closest of friends to the very end. They had lived a long and fulfilling life, but as the fate of all who are mortal, they had reached the end of their lifespan eventually.
Though Tempus had kept in contact with Estelle's family, they gradually drifted, and none could replace the one who had started it all.
To this very day, Tempus mourns the passing of their one true friend.
Suddenly, a disturbance in the time-space fabric.
A red big-rig/RV hybrid suddenly appears out of nowhere!
Wait. Tempus has seen this before. Back at the haunted house that got demolished.
That weird-ass robotic AU version of their parent.
Thoren.
As if on cue, he steps out of the big rig and onto the moon.
Being a robot has its perks sometimes.
Thoren walks a short distance ahead. It seems that Tempus is pretty well established up here. They have a glass dome house with a massive garden, and surprise surprise, evidence of golf having been played long ago.
At least they probably know enough about golf to humor the invitation?
He knocks on the front door.
Interrupting their lamentations, three knocks is enough to get Tempus to stop crying.
Instead, there is immediate suspicion.
Who the fuck would be out here? There aren't even any manned moon missions planned for a while now!
Tempus gets up and walks across the garden.
The garden is a very soothing but absolutely important addition to any moon residence. Without it, Tempus would have to expend magical power to generate enough oxygen to breathe.
Such use of aura power is taxing, and would add further load to The Network in addition to the great strain it is to already sustain them indefinitely.
Tempus enters the airlock room. They will have to make due with such magical measures for a short time.
The preparations are made, and the door is opened.
Thoren is at the door.
He tries to speak, but no words can make their way though the vaccum.
How long has it been since this false parent has been in space?
Tempus facepalms, and then leads Thoren wordlessly into the room. They seal the airlock room and re-introduce the air, also dispelling the magic air bubble.
"...okay. What the fuck are you doing here."
Thoren selects the letter from his inventory and shows it to Tempus.
"This."
Tempus takes a good look at the letter. The thing that catches their eye however, is the apparent location.
"...where is this hosted exactly?"
"A golf course in the underworld. I will make utmost sure that you will not die while visiting there."
...The underworld.
The bottom glass.
Could this... could this be their chance to finally re-unite with Estelle?
"...I'm going."
"Excellent! I'll warm up the rig and we can be on our way before you can say 'monster mash'!"
"Just give me a moment to pack."
A short moment later, Tempus and Thoren are ready to disembark.
Their destination: The Underworld.
It does not take long for them to disappear.
Meanwhile, back at the tower...
