Somewhere out there in space, a rather massive complex structure stands, being stabilized by various means. Hundreds of different types of ships depart and arrive from this central hub every day, though day and night often look exactly the same here, only differing in which side of the spaceport you can see the far-off sun from. It seems about the same amount of activity no matter what time you show up there, though occasionally there's points where there's a suspiciously thin amount of foot traffic about the many halls.
In addition to locations to dock spaceships at, there are countless shops, stalls, and restaurants located here, ranging from the extravagant to the mundane and possibly unlicensed. There are also apartments and hotels here as well. Various social events have been held in the auditoriums and auction halls. For those who do not own their own spacecraft, there are also commercial flights that lead to various planets with their own spaceports.
The currency of choice here is the credit, and they are stored electronically. There are currency transfer places here as well.
As far as it goes, SBURBan boondollars tend to convert poorly due to a tendency towards hyperinflation.
Sometimes rarer currencies can fetch a surprisingly large amount of credits.
For valuables such as gems and precious metals, there are places that can appraise those as well, in addition to a few different pawn shops filled with odd wares from across the galaxy.
There's also a supermarket somewhere in there. It tends to have a much less varied selection than the many other stores, but it at least carries the basics, to a degree. Not many of the employees seem to enjoy working there...
As of late, a mysterious colorful phenomena has become visible outside the highly reinforced windows of the spaceport's many walkways and halls. For the most part, services continue as normal, but there has been some weird things happening in places. The overall stress level has heightened, as well as the crime rate, leading to less trust between travelers and shopkeepers and such. A cautionary advisory has been issued for any who try to access the movie theater in section 49, after a large group of movie viewers failed to emerge from the viewing of a particular film...
