Ooh, That's a cool button, now there aren't any more re: things. Anyways, you talk way too much Charles. I don't know anything about your alien money. we don't have boondollars here. we have minute coins, hour dollars, and day wads. probably some bigger stuff but I've never really seen anything bigger at home. week stacks might be a thing? I don't really like talking about money. ciphers and friends are way cooler. Most my friends think ciphers are boring though. They call me a nerd.

you mean ciphers like, coded messages? those are pretty useful when you wanna hide something from somebody for whatever reason. ive used em a few times. usually one with an automatic decoder or like encryption, but manual ones certainly have their place. im talking like im an expert but im really just a casual fan, except with a better word than fan.

I can't believe I finally found somebody that shares my passion for ciphers! we gotta work on making a custom cipher sometime soon! What's your favorite one? My favorite is the pigpen cipher. i got a thing that types in pigpen really easy. see if you can figure it out! [Attached image]

well, "passion" is kind of a strong term... i generally go for esoteric replacement ciphers, if i really need to hide it ill go for a more visual/pictoral one that might not even parse as a message at first. sorry to disappoint, i guess. ill try and figure that one out, though!

"IF YOU CAN READ THIS YOU ARE COOL" Note that it didn't seem to match up originally, but then I realized I could substitute some letters and get a message that made sense. ...Uh, can your skill at ciphers translate to um... slightly corrupted messages? There are a few that seem to have been corrupted every few bits, like... someone ran a bunch of hexadecimal through an OR gate, with the other hex being nothing but "E"s. ...um, do you know what hexadecimal is over there? I mean, you have computers, but well, I can't be certain.

I'd love to know about this! Collecting myths and stories from foreign planets is quite a hobby of mine.

yeah, it's a pretty old famous book with lots of stuff in it. I don't really like the sections with all the blood and guts so I usually skip those when reading. the main stories talk about how Chronos, the ultimate ruler of space and time, had these huge campaigns against his enemies before the world was made. my favorite story in that book... it's a tie between "the stone fortress of origins" and "the fallen heir".
The fallen heir is about his first children and how they didn't do good enough for him with destroying the hornless enemies. the heir was exiled to an endless desert and the prince took his place. but then the heir came back and led an uprising against his dad. the heir and the hornless warriors met on the battlefield where they would fight to the death. they all had cool magic powers so the stuff they did was soooo coool. but here's the thing. Chronos knew his son would rebel against him and lead him to his doom. he had his own plans to continue on after dying that would allow him to rule all of space and time. it goes on to say that his spirit attatched to the fallen heir and awakened when the heir fell into a deep sleep, and then he took over the heir's body in revenge.
the other cool story is a little less popular, but I think it's pretty cool. it starts when Chronos was running away in the "realm of endless darkness". he found a portal to a mirror world where everything was backwards. even the people talked backwards. Anyways, everyone there was amazed that he had found them, and really excited about the news that he had just destroyed an ancient evil creature on his way there and told him that he did exactly what they wanted him to do. he was confused about this. eventually they told him that they had actually made him somehow to get back at the ancient evil creature that destroyed their home and had them chase an enemy that was never there. after this he got really really mad and he killed everyone. from then on, Chronos decided from then on to blaze his own trail and create his own destiny.
There's a bunch of other stories in there like "explosion of a thousand worlds", "slaughter of the festive blue people", "the lady who broke his heart", and a couple others.

I do wonder about the other three stories you've mentioned as well...I guess I'll find out if ever I find a way to visit.

...whoa. That's a bit different from the way I've heard those stories told. o_O; More or less similar, but way different in focus and tone. I only knew about half of the 2nd one you summarized there, but wow.
I've been kinda wondering. The timestamps on your posts are quite a bit different from the ones we use over here. How many days are even in a month over there? or in a year even? Over here we've kinda stuck to using an archaic calendar system from our old home. Where we used to live, there were 12 months in a year and about 30-31 days in a month (29 or 28 days in February, depending on if it's a leap year or not). Technically this doesn't really match up with how the day length/year length is on starter planet, since the days are 26 hours long instead of 24 and there's... 413 days in a year? (I forget if this is the right number or not, it's been a while)So it can be a little difficult trying to get used to the differences, even after nearly 2 (shorter) years of hanging around here.
