The slap may have been weak, maybe even insubstantial, but the emotional weight that it carried hit Thoren hard. Hard enough to separate him from his robotic body.
The robot stay standing, but the ghost that occupied it goes hurtling to the ground.
"Holy shit, you just got knocked the fuck out!" Nil can't help but chuckle a little.
If Thoren were in the condition to do so, he'd flip Nil off. He's far too stunned to do much right now though. He can hardly keep his form intact.
"..."
The thorenbot emits a repeating tone like the kind a car makes when the door is left open while the key is in the ignition.

Bwen gasps. "Santa's white beard! Did you just kill Thoren?"
"Wasn't he already dead? That kinda thing doesn't happen to alive folk, last time I checked." Clispaeth remarks.
"IF HE WASN'T, HE SURE IS NOW." Daisy dusts off her hands. She probably shouldn't be enjoying this so much, but after what he did to her and the others, why not?
Amelia looks down upon the sad wavering ember knocked to the ground, arms crossed. "I hope you've learned your lesson, bitch."
A quiet voice from behind the crowd. "...is it safe to come out now?" Flyson peeks out from between the others.
"I don't think he'll be hurting anyone else any time soon." Bwen informs Flyson.

All of his lines of support, severed in an instant. Even removed from his armor. Plagued by complex through and feelings, many of which are self loathing, Thoren is at his weakest. He could easily be defeated now, and he wouldn't even fight back. Should he even?
"Hey, are you guys done yet? I wanna get back home soon." Nil mentions.
"..."
Can Thoren even last without his other half? Without his friends and family? While much of the darkness has been vanquished, he is still just as biased and fallible as any man. The proof of his violent path still remains.
He can't escape.
Was he a fool for believing he could he could run off and elope with a member of the living that found love in him?
Does he even deserve her kindness? After all that he had done? After all the lives wasted in his wake? Why should he be able to walk the earth (or any other planet for that matter) once more with the stains of so much innocent blood?
"..." Thoren has no words. There's nothing more he can say or do. Perhaps he should have avoided this confrontation, but then what? Let the guilt eat him slowly?
Perhaps he was damned from the start... "..."

The crack in the sky becomes blotted out by darkness, as dark inky hands start to pour out of it.
Dozens of them, slowly prying themselves out of the crack, before ultimately falling down from the shift in gravity. It falls to the ground, creating a small crater.
The landing could shake the heavens, as the mass loses cohesion for a short while from the impact, forming a cage around...something?
After a while, the hands start to form again, and they seem to be carrying a person. It's hard to discern who this person was but it was clear that they were incredibly upset.
...But to say that person the mass was carrying was upset would be an understatement.

Cracked earth crunches underfoot as a figure approaches the congregation. Sunken eyes take it all in, the slain elves, the mechanical body, even the figure falling from the sky. But his steps never falter, until they bring him before the fallen ghost and he turns that blank, faintly tired, faintly serious expression downward to look on Thoren. "So... this is where you wandered off to."

Nil is surprised by the new arrivals. He looks between the pale tattered figure and the angry-as-all-fuck lord of rage. This is clearly not his place to be.
Meanwhile, Thoren finally responds. He sits up slightly, enough to see the man before him. There is a clear sense of resignation. "...go ahead, laugh. there's no saving me from my sins. the damage is done. the scars remain. I'm broken and always have been."
Being unable to sense her, and being turned the other way, he doesn't yet notice Raine. Nil doesn't even know about their relationship yet. He continues to watch.

The figure stares simply, his expression remaining static. A few moments pass. And then.
"I'm not here to gloat or pity you. I have nothing left... the desire for revenge at everything's core, is gone, now. The hate behind it and the reason, too. After everything, you were dead all along."
The tattered heir closes and unfurls his fingers a few times, stuffing his thumbs in his pockets as he surveys Thoren.
"Actions have consequences. Your actions... my actions, too. I just wanted to see, and convey a few things to the others. Maybe you too."

Thoren, as he presents himself right now, is wearing his old trashed heir of time garb, stained with blood both red and hot pink. His fatal wound, the hole in his chest, lets the light of a wavering red flame through. His long hair is messy and unwashed looking.
Finally recognizing exactly who this figure is standing before him, Thoren sits up, though doesn't quite have any words to say.
Nil, the other dead seth, decides to speak. "Can somebody tell me what's going on here? I'm pretty out of the loop here."

Raine turns to see that her dear partner isn't double dead. That's relieving, at least.
And...That grey heir is there... ...Well, he wouldn't be trouble, considering what happened just a long while ago.
But she turns back to the elves, in a very defensive stance.
"Any more funny business and I'll turn you mall elves inside out...!!!"
The appendages surrounding her are as riled up as she is, probably to keep them from moving forward.

The elves shriek in fear, scrambling to hide behind Daisy and Clispaeth. "wh-who are you? and who's that over there?" Clispaeth, despite her leaderly position, is clearly shaking in her boots here. Daisy however, hasn't got the time to be afraid. "LOOK, MISS SCARE ARMS. WE'RE TRYIN TO GET OUR CLOSURE. THAT UGLY MUG IN RED OVER THERE KILLED EVERY LAST ONE OF US HERE! IT ONLY TOOK ONE SLAP TO BOOT HIM OUTTA THAT BOT SO HE'S HARDLY EVEN WORTH BEATING UP ANYMORE."

The heir starts walking forward, looking to Nil.
"What is there to say. These elves played a session with him and were slain by him before they could claim their reward, on the path of his so-called destiny. They're understandably upset."
His footsteps bring him between Raine and the elves, and he glances over his shoulder to meet her gaze.
"I don't have much left in me. But I have enough to say that no further harm will come to these spirits. As for you..."
Turning ahead to fixate on the elves he lifts one hand to the back of his neck, other still in his pocket.
"...Was there anything else you wanted to say? Did this reunion and your payback bring some closure, or satisfaction?"

"A destiny that was supported by lies, by the way...! It's the main reason why he can't even say it!"
A dejected sigh escapes from Raine as the hands fade once again, plopping her on her feet to the ground.
"...Everything he did, every belief he had, all the mistakes he made for the sake of an ideal held aloft by someone who said he knew how he felt.
Leading up to being killed by that very person. For what? I don't really know. All I can tell you is from things I remembered...things I've heard. He was a piece of shit back then, yes...And yeah, it only took being fucking murdered and probably more to realize that maybe he was being a little twat...
...But he's gone through a lot since then. If he didn't learn anything, do you think he would actually come to you guys rather than you guys running to the ends of the universe trying to find him?
Do you really think that punch would even do that much if he didn't feel debilitating guilt? I felt that punch from way out there before he got punted out of his shell. If I wasn't already used to pain I would have been screaming like a little baby."
...She hopes at least that other girl wasn't too affected by it.

Sighs of relief from the elves. Whoever this dude is, must be alright if he's willing to protect them. They converse amongst themselves for a moment.
Was it worth it? Daisy would like to think so. Amelia is uneasy but overall the results are good enough, considering the circumstances. Bwen can still hardly believe his old friend's betrayal, but it seems it's the only conclusion that makes sense. Flyson wasn't really interested in seeing his assailant in the first place, but at least glad to have his friends to keep him safe. Vesri is disappointed in his group's tragic downfall, but at least he knows his intuition was correct. Clispaeth though, while she's mostly satisfied, there's just one thing she wants.
With the translating tool in her hands, she speaks to the tattered heir. "We've talked it over, and... our work here is mostly done, except one thing. I'd like to know, what was beyond that door. The door we never got to enter. Maybe it's an impossible task, but if somebody could tell me or show me the stars beyond that door... I think that would be enough..."

Thoren finally sees his dearest, trying her best for his sake. Knowing that she understands him, even without being connected... it makes him feel just a little bit better. It doesn't change the facts however.
Clispaeth's request however, piques his interest.
Maybe this could be his chance at redemption?
Then again, would it even be fair for him to experience the ultimate reward that his teammates could never reach? not to mention, would he even be able to go back after entering? It's completely uncharted territory! an unknown universe, never touched by foreign hands... But, if he could snap some footage, find a path back, and send the pictures and video their way... ...if a robot endowed with the spirit of a time travelling serial killer and a goddess of unimaginable fury can find love within each other and work together to save paradox space, is there really anything that they can't do?
Thoren, given enough determination to continue, stands up once more, and walks over to Raine's side. He flashes her a rare smile, and then faces the others.
"...I might be able to fulfill your wish. Provided a proper course can be charted for the round trip, I would be willing to document and report what lies beyond that door... if you'll let me. I owe you all immeasurably, and... this is the least I can do."

The heir looks to the sky now, intently focused on what seems like a singular point. Telling one prismatic portion of the void from another seems like a fools errand but the look on his face suggests he sees something among the emptiness.
"...With the way things are, something might be possible. I... have an idea that might help. But the clock is ticking."
Turning his gaze ahead he begins walking, toward the edge of the dream dome and the forest beckoning the others follow him.
"So tired... But. We should reconvene with the others. I'll sleep soon enough. If there's nothing else, let's go."
