I point to the sword on the wall, the old man nods and takes it to me.
"May this help you on your dangerous quest."
I stretch my right hand and take the sword by the hilt.
Poppies.
Poppies covered this strange field deep beneath the planet's surface.
The field of red was a strange contrast to the bleak, monochrome wasteland that was the surface.
I would have been asleep at this point, but I couldn't rest. To rest would mean to lose time until that...thing destroyed everything.
This field of poppies is where my one true Denizen is.
The beast that sought after my destruction was a farce.
I stepped forward, crushing some of the flowers under my feet. They sprung back, unharmed, as soon as I stepped off them.
Was this a dream? An illusion? I didn't care.
I stopped in front of a comfortable bed in the center of the field. It was one of those fancy beds you would see in fairy tales.
Red, translucent curtains obscured who, or what was occupying the bed.
It spoke in a language I did not know, but somehow understood. Their voice was quiet, yet firm.
It gave me a choice, a puzzle in a way.
What would be the happier ending?
Would you die, knowing that you would be reborn in a world that is less painful than what you are in?
Or would you sleep? Sleep and sink into a deep, sweet dream without an end?
...I thought. My thoughts lasted minutes.
And then...I chose.
I was ready. I had my sword, as well as the boots and gauntlets.
Ciel asks me if she should come with her. I told her not to, as I didn't want to put her in danger.
She reluctantly obliges.
I waved goodbye to the two, and headed out of the hut.
...There was only one clear path, so I headed towards the town.

[...]I set off in that path towards the town.
Minutes pass, and yet I don't end up finding said town.
It was a straight path, and yet I somehow got lost.
I turn back and try to walk back towards the beach where Ciel found me.
Another few minutes and I am nowhere near it.
I look around. A deep forest of green. An overwhelming urge to step off the path.
I took that chance.
The day turns to dusk. Vision becomes more and more dim.
I try to go back to the path, but it's somehow disappeared.
What's happening? Am I hallucinating?
No...this isn't a hallucination. Am I dreaming?
But this feels all too real...
Am I...dead?
Death and Sleep are siblings, after all.
Either way...What should I do...?[ENTER COMMAND] |

Oh, right. I forgot you could do that.

It's faint...but it's there. I think.
Well, It's most likely that I'm alive...but am I asleep?
I pinch myself to check. Ouch.
Nothing, still here in this bizarre forest.
How is this real? And how did I get here?
Why am I here!?
Finding one thing leads to even more things I needed to know.
But I need to get out of this forest first.
...Especially since I feel like I'm being watched.

Unfortunately there are none. The trees are strangely similar to each other, almost as if it were intentional.
There are no rocks I can use that have any striking features, and all the flowers on the ground are poppies.
It doesn't help that there's not much light left to see.
...I guess there's nothing left to do but go in one direction and stay the course.>Show the monsters your stabs.Luckily, there's only a few slime-like creatures that got in my way. They look like those enemies in those cartoon-styled Zelda games.
They were really easy to take care of. Some of them dropped a few colored gems, which I will probably assume are rupees.
Of course I take them, since I might need them later.
A few moments pass and I notice that they've become scarcer and scarcer. I even saw some that were scurrying away.
...Were they scared of me...?
...No. It wasn't me they were terrified of. Slowly, I could make out groaning and screeching sounds.
They sounded eerily mechanical.
And whatever that sound is...it was nearby.V'IR SBBBBBHHHHHHAQ LBHHHHHHHH ....almost as if it was behind me.[ENTER COMMAND] |

That could most definitely work.
As quickly as I could muster, I swung my sword around, hoping to attack...whatever it was before it could attack me.
*CLANG*
I staggered as metal hit metal. From what I saw from the sparks that flew is that I hit it's arm...
Which was reinforced by some sort of makeshift steel armor.
Another thing I saw is that it was about to swing downwards with...something.
I quickly tried to jump behind, my arms stretched away from my body.
That something was...some kind of scythe. I didn't dodge far enough and it hooked onto my mantle.
That thing cut through cloth like a red hot knife through butter. I'm left with the dress under my cloak,
and both my arms intact, thankfully.
If I hadn't put my arms out of the way...That would have hurt.
I looked up and saw it's eyes glowing white.
This thing is incredibly tall...or it might just be floating.
I'm clearly at a disadvantage.
What to do...

I took a risk, and raised my sword up high. Perhaps the heavens could provide assistance.
I was wrong. There was nothing, and my enemy was given an opportunity.
It's been generations since a sword like that could do something of that caliber.
Not to mention, this isn't that exact sword, either.
It grabbed the arm my sword was in and squeezed tight. It was cold, sticky.
And most of all, it's grip was unnaturally strong.
I panicked and tried to shake it off, and in that panic, the sword flew away from me.
It hurts.
Something inside me broke, and it wasn't just the fractures in my arm.
This feels all too familiar.
It scares me.
It hurts.
But I have to do something.

Something was crawling up my brain and I couldn't process it.
All I knew is that this felt all too familiar.
But how? I've never been attacked before...not like this...
The...thing threw me down into the ground.
Impulsively i tried to crawl towards my sword, only to be pinned down.
I tried to reach for it, it proved futile as my arms weren't long enough.LBH'ER ZVAR NAQ V'YY GRNE LBH VAGB YVGGYR CVRPRF, V'Z FBEEL I could just feel it's weapon near my neck.
I was going to die here. In this strange, inexplicable world where nothing makes sense.
I couldn't help but cry and scream for help.
It hurts-
It's weapon dispersed. A dull kind of pain shot up from a small area my back, and my vision started to blur...
All I could hear was this unholy screeching before everything went black.[LOADING......] |
