Unfortunately, the door is locked. Not only that, but tampering with the doorknob has managed to set off the "security system". A variety of completely harmless high-end animatronic horror props and noise making objects are set off, many of which have really terrible sound quality. youtu.be/794z1rSG_FYA wraith puppet drops down from the balcony! A rubber hand with sharp looking (but not actually sharp) nails descends upon your own! The pumpkins begin rotating in place incredibly fast!
Meanwhile, on the third floor, Thanatos is standing near Boa, with the soul of the sleeper still occupying their Genuine Brass Lantern. Thanatos's phone goes off, playing "This is Halloween" on a short few second loop. Some of the band members nearby cringe. Who the fuck forgot to turn their phone off for band practice?! Thanatos checks their phone. An alert to a break-in at their house, on their floor. "excuse me, I have business to tend to." And with that, Thanatos walks off to the stairs, still carrying the occupied lantern.

The alarms continue for a minute before finally settling down, at which point Thanatos finally shows up from the stairs near the gravel driveway.
"who dares to enter the house of death?!"
A robed figure the same height as the chump from before calls out, holding a brass lantern containing a glowing red orb. Their voice is a lot squeakier than expected from such an imposing figure, but it does sound very Rise-like, at least before they hit puberty. At least they're trying to sound dark... Kinda.

Thanatos hears the intruder speak mostly backwards and knows what to do. They pull out a tape recorder which has a play backwards feature. Thanatos speaks into it, calmer than before. "Now let's try again. What is your business here?" They then reverse play it back for Lazeh.

Thanatos nods and then plays the recording back for themself. "I can understand your backwards speak, friend. I am Lezah Neorac, egaR fo egaM. I seek the one going by Thanatos for directions to Starter's End."
They then proceed to speak without the recorder. "it seems you have found me. I am thanatos. starter's end is quite the distance from here. You will have to find a way across the misty waters to the city of necropolis, to the east."

Thanatos has been quite busy lately, having had to do quite a bit of paperwork for the great deal of wayward spirits that had been found in the elevator shaft recently. They recently had a mechanic fix the broken lever on the elevator, so hopefully it should operate properly in time for halloween this year.
While Thanatos was busy with paperwork, another member of the fallen appeared, this time curiously close to a group of dead trees right outside of the tower. Another sleeper, this time in their farmer's attire. Having been put to rest by the dryads of autumnal, they aren't getting up any time soon. The bell tolls for them as they continue their eternal slumber.
Meanwhile, inside of the tower, it seems Boa's plans have been thrown out of whack. They had previously blocked out much of their memories of their hazardous route through time, and only recently had begun remembering some parts of it. Though their send-off was a peaceful one, it could not erase what they had experienced. Boa makes their way to the dock, interested in taking a trip to Starter's End. If they're going to be remembering this shit, they're gonna want to get drunk off their incorporeal ass. Besides, what's an overdose of booze going to do, kill them?
On their way, they spot the sleeper curled up under the trees. They stop for a moment to get a good look. Appears to have been post-transition, and either in the fall season or while getting into farming? or perhaps both? Regardless, this one appears to have fallen after them. Boa conjures a blanket for them and continues on their way. Such a sad place, marked with tragedy at every turn. Who would consciously choose this place to be the site of their afterlife? Though Boa was sure that they would retire to the floor where paradise would greet them before, they can't stand the guilt of their actions now that they can remember them, and refuse to allow themself to attain such a reward.
Boa hops into the wooden boat at the dock, and begins rowing. It will take a while to get to Necropolis on their own, but they have nothing but time now, so that doesn't matter.

The bell tolls for a new member of the fallen. Having experienced a violent death in battle, this one cannot rest yet. With Halloween approaching in merely ten days in the land of the living, Thanatos is once again very busy. They send dusknoir to handle the processing of the newcomer. The new member of the fallen sobs at the sight of the eternal tower before them. Gallade, having suffered a similar fate, tries to console their deceased trainer. It's too much to take, they both cry.
Dusknoir appears before them. Gallade, knowing well of the legends of this messenger of death, kneels before the reaper. The trainer is too distraught to do anything other than continue crying. The pain of their departure is too fresh.

Thanatos is on their way home, after a long shift. At this point they've managed to get an engine for their fishing boat. It's certainly made their commutes a lot easier.
Eventually, Thanatos arrives on the island, carrying a briefcase of some sort. According to Dusknoir, a gift has arrived for them, having been unlocked from an embargo of sorts. Thanatos is excited about this.
Thanatos arrives home on the 4th floor, where their memory copy of their childhood home is located, obscured in an eternal mist. They unlock the door and find a premier ball, having been sent by their sister, Brae. Thanatos smiles, picking up the ball. They set down their briefcase on a table and let out the pokemon inside.
Thanatos is greeted by a Greavard! The ghostly doggo leaps about and tacklepounces its new trainer! "ahahahaha... stop it..." Thanatos smiles and laughs while being licked on the face.
Meanwhile, the briefcase cracks open, a dark mist briefly pouring out of it. The mist escapes out the front door while Thanatos is preoccupied with the Greavard. The mist solidifies into a figure in a teal cloak, who then quickly absconds to the elevator. The elevator opens, the figure enters. The figure types in a rather recent numerical code into the keypad, and pulls the lever. The elevator doors close, and the elevator shoots off to the next expected floor.
The elevator arrives in an unlit hallway. The teal cloaked figure steps out of the elevator, and walks down the hall. The figure arrives upon a backstage area, all of the lights still off.
Up ahead, there is a peculiar member of The Fallen, trying to sleep, but left restless. They're surrounded by flowers and autumn leaves. A gaping hole in their chest allows for their inner light to shine through. Hyacinth sits on a rock, lamenting their own losses. Their eternally faithful Gallade stands watch. It seems that becoming a spirit has changed his form and typing to a degree. Instead of a sharp crest, there is a billowing blue flame atop his head. He immediately notices the approaching stranger.
The stranger pulls out a pokeball of their own, and toss it outwards. Spiritomb appears!
"...use Hex." Spiritomb places a hex upon Gallade! It's super-effective! Gallade is knocked out by the hex! The stranger walks past the toppled ghostly gallade and approaches the trainer. "...Today is your lucky day. You may just get your heart back."
Hyacinth looks up from their sobbing in utter disbelief. "...really?"
"Take my hand and find out." The stranger extends a hand, wearing black gloves.
Hyacinth hesitates at first, but then takes the stranger's hand. The stranger sends an electric shock to them. "aAAAGH!" Hyacinth faints and donetiers soon after. The stranger uncaptchas a jar and captures the betrayed soul. They seal the jar and store it away. They also recall their spiritomb back to its pokeball.
The stranger makes their escape, leaving the gallade behind.
'If only... I could... protect my trainer...'
